Hello Adult Vaccine Program Partners,
Our next AVP vaccine request opportunity for non-COVID/non-flu vaccines will open next week on February 17th and will remain open for 3 weeks until March 10th. Approved orders will be placed in March after our allocation process is complete.
We will send out an additional newsletter to notify providers when ordering has officially opened.
AVP vaccine requests take place in the IIS. Each facility will have an order set available in the IIS containing the vaccine types prioritized on their AVP provider agreement. This is a vaccine request, not an order, and requests may be reduced to stay within the AVP’s available budget. Please note that this year, we have reduced funding available for this ordering opportunity due to the addition of the COVID-19 vaccine to the program and Measles outbreak vaccine efforts.
If you do not have familiarity with placing a vaccine request or receiving vaccines in the IIS, you can review this AVP Vaccine Ordering and Receiving Guide for step by step instructions.
In order to receive an allocation of AVP vaccine, your facility’s provider agreement and accountability must be current. This includes the submission of up-to-date inventory in the IIS and temperature log submission in Redcap, including any outstanding items. If you need assistance with Redcap, you can review this Step-by-Step Guide around navigating the Provider Portal in RedCAP.
The next AVP order request opportunity for these vaccine types will be in August, so you may request a 6-month supply of vaccine during this request window. When placing your request, please keep in mind that AVP vaccines are a limited resource in high demand. Waste should be kept below 5%, so please order intentionally with regards to what your facility can administer. Previous years' wastage and administration data should be reviewed before placing your request.
These AVP vaccines can only be administered to uninsured adults 19+ years of age. Please keep in mind that Medicare and Medicaid are considered insurance and thus individuals with these plans do not qualify for AVP.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us at WAAdultVaccines@doh.wa.gov.
Thank you for all that you do!
The Adult Vaccine Program has a small amount of flu vaccine available for providers who did not prioritize flu vaccine on their provider agreements. If you have a need for flu vaccine for your uninsured patients, even if you did not prioritize flu vaccine this year, please contact us at WAAdultVaccines@doh.wa.gov.
If your facilility did prioritize flu vaccine this year, please continue to order normally with small quantities frequently.
