RSV Ordering Update

RSV products will no longer be available for ordering through the Childhood Vaccine Program in the IIS after February 1, 2026.

We are not stopping the flow of vaccine by turning off orders - we are now going to get vaccine to you in a different way. We already have enough vaccine in the state. We are going to get vaccine to you be moving vaccine that is already here instead of bringing new orders into the state.

As a reminder, RSV administration is typically October 1 through March 31. You should stop administering RSV products by March 31, 2026.

If you gave doses that will not be used before March 31, please place an advertisement in the IIS.

If you are in need of RSV vaccine, please check the Vaccine Advertisements in the IIS or email WAChildhoodVaccines@doh.wa.gov and we will help locate product. We can also help coordinate and move product between regions.

Remaining inventory of nirsevimab is viable until its expiration date. Product should continue to be safely stored refrigerated between 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C) and can be used when administration resumes next season - do not discard or attempt to return unexpired RSV products. Expired RSV products should be returned using the Online Returns Process like all other expired vaccine products.

Please don't hesitate to contact us at WAChildhoodVaccines@doh.wa.gov for any questions or for assistance managing your nirsevimab inventory.

Vaccine Advisory Committee Child Care Representative Seat Recruitment

The Vaccine Advisory Committee (VAC) is seeking a member with child care or early learning experience to bring real-world insight into how immunization policies impact child care and early learning entities. This perspective is essential to advancing equitable vaccine strategies for young children. The Department of Health strongly encourages applicants with experience serving rural or underserved communities, especially those east of the Cascades or from regions not currently represented. These voices are critical to ensuring VAC recommendations reflect Washington’s full geographic and community diversity.

Important VAC information to review:

If you are interested in joining the VAC, please submit your resume and a statement of interest (500 words or fewer) to vaccineadvisorycommittee@doh.wa.gov by February 18, 2026.
