RSV Ordering Update

Ordering for RSV product (nirsevimab) opened statewide on October 8, 2025. Providers will continue to have the opportunity to order at least weekly. DOH continues to monitor orders closely, and we expect the process to become smoother moving forward.

Goal: Our goal is to use all RSV product by the end of the season on March 31 so that no doses are held over to next fall. Please remember that whenever product is close to expiring, it should be posted for transfer at least four weeks before expiration to help ensure it is fully utilized.

Next Steps to Continue Our Success:

  • Order responsibly – small quantities, more often, and only what you will use.
  • Prioritize use of short-dated vaccines first.
  • Ensure proper storage safeguards, especially during extreme weather or power outages.

Thank you for your dedication, patience, and hard work. Your partnership helps us reduce waste, maximize access, and protect the sustainability of this vital public health program.

For assistance with vaccine transfers, see the Vaccine Transfer Checklist and FAQs. Additional information on vaccine ordering, returns, and vaccine choice can be found here. You can also contact us anytime at WAChildhoodVaccines@doh.wa.gov

Holiday Shipping Calendar

With the holidays quickly approaching, please be mindful of shipping delays, limited or no shipping days, and plan your vaccine orders accordingly. You can place an order off your typical schedule if needed. Please ensure your accountability reports are up to date prior to placing orders to ensure expedited processing. It's also a good idea to update your shipping hours in your provider agreement if needed. Check out the holiday shipping calendar on our website for more information.

Reminder: DOH Offices will be closed Tuesday, November 11th.

New Confirmed Measles Case in King County with Public Exposure

The Department of Health Office of Communicable Disease Epidemiology sent out the following message on October 31.

On October 28, 2025, Public Health - Seattle & King County (PHSKC) confirmed a measles case in a King County adult. This individual was on the same flight as a non-Washington state resident with confirmed measles that PHSKC announced on October, 17, 2025. PHSKC believes the latest case was exposed to measles on this flight.

This brings the 2025 measles case count in Washington state to 12. The WA DOH Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) Program maintains a webpage displaying Washington’s 2025 measles surveillance data, modeled after CDC’s measles surveillance page. This webpage provides a single, reliable source for 2025 statewide measles activity and is updated quickly to ensure the public and media have the most current information. Public exposure locations are also shown on the WA DOH Measles Exposure Location Tracker Mapping Tool.

With elevated measles transmission globally and in areas of the United States, the Washington State Department of Health remains on high alert for additional measles cases in Washington.  Please contact the VPD Program (vpd-cde@doh.wa.gov or 206-418-5500) with any questions, concerns, or to report potential cases.

Did you know that inventory reconciliation report submission requirements recently changed? As of 8/27/2025, the IIS requires an inventory reconciliation submission within 14 days of a vaccine order. If the last inventory submission was not completed within the last 14 days of the date you are placing a vaccine order, the IIS will redirect you to the reconciliation page to complete an inventory reconciliation report.

Remember, an inventory report submission is required at least monthly and within 14 days of a vaccine order!
