Yellow CVB Sign Does NOT Replace Blue FMNP Sign
FMNP rules require all authorized growers to display the official blue FMNP sign clearly at their booth or sales area during the program season, which runs from June 1 through October 31. This sign helps WIC participants and Senior participants quickly identify which growers are approved to accept FMNP benefits and ensures consistency across markets statewide. It is also a contract requirement.
While some growers may also choose to display the yellow WIC Cash Value Benefit (CVB) sign, that sign is optional and cannot be used in place of the blue FMNP sign. The CVB sign simply lets participants know the grower accepts WIC fruit and vegetable benefits year-round but does not meet the FMNP display requirement. For compliance, the blue FMNP sign must always be posted and visible during the program season.
FMNP Rulemaking Update: Mobile Markets
The Legislature passed Senate Bill 5214 (in English) to increase nutrition access for people who use WIC and the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program by establishing a mobile market program.
Because this isn’t allowed under current law, we need to do rulemaking to make changes.
We want to hear from you!
