Single Sign-On (SSO)
The WA IIS will be unavailable Saturday, August 23rd, to implement a Single Sign-On (SSO) login process. HL7 messages will not be accepted, and users will be unable to login during this time. All IIS users will need to follow the linking process outlined in the Single Sign-on (SSO) for WA IIS Users guide to log into the IIS after 8/23/25.
In preparation for this change, we are advising that all WA IIS users ensure their accounts have an email address BEFORE 8/23/2025.

The WA IIS Training Team will be hosting several virtual help sessions to assist users with the new Single Sign-On (SSO) process. You can also request help here or email us at WAIISHelpDesk@doh.wa.gov or IIS.Training@doh.wa.gov.
2025 Immunize WA Awards
This year we are celebrating the 11th Anniversary of Immunize Washington which honors clinics that meet the immunization coverage goals for childhood, adolescents, and HPV dose initiation for 9- and 10-year-olds. Thank you for your continued efforts to keep patients up to date on vaccines, especially as we work to recover from declines in immunization rates during the pandemic. Awardees will receive an official certificate and a window cling to display in their clinics.
The full list of 2025 winners will be announced here on August 20, 2025.

Polio, Unspecified Corrections
Updates to the WA IIS forecasting tool took place on February 26, 2025. WA DOH has discovered and corrected doses of ‘Polio, unspecified’ in the WA Immunization Information System (WAIIS).
The following modifications were made:
- All recorded doses of ‘Polio, unspecified’ with an administered date of 4/1/16 or later have been changed to ‘OPV bivalent’.
This ensures that the doses are correctly evaluated by the WAIIS forecaster and could result in new patients being forecasted as needing additional polio vaccine. Please vaccinate these patients with additional doses of IPV if needed to complete the series according to the Immunization Schedules | Vaccines & Immunizations | CDC. We suggest running a Coverage Rate Report to see if new patients are forecasted for IPV.
For more information on how to enter doses when IPV or OPV is not specified, refer to Polio Vaccine Documentation in the WAIIS.
Questions about this change can be directed to ImmuneNurses@doh.wa.gov

School and Child Care Immunization (SCCI) Requirements
School Immunization Requirement Charts for the 2025-26 School Year
The 2025-26 requirement charts and Individual Vaccine Requirements Summary document are available in the Immunization Requirements section of the School and Child Care Immunization page at www.doh.wa.gov/SCCI. The parent charts and translations have also been posted to the family-friendly web page www.doh.wa.gov/vaxtoschool. The only change from the current school year is the roll up of the Tdap vaccination minimum age requirement. Starting with the 2025-26 school year, a Tdap at age 10+ will be required for all students in grades 7-12. The only changes to the current child care charts posted in May were minor formatting edits.
New Process for Asking Questions and More!
To get information or ask us a question: SCCI Imm Wizard
This is a new tool for questions about the immunization requirements, forms, the School and Child Care Immunization Module, roster uploads and delegation requests. You can also send a message to us through the Wizard! Give it a try!

Help Prevent Vaccine Waste - Fall Inventory Guidance
As we prepare for the fall respiratory season, the Department of Health, WVA, and WCAAP are asking Childhood Vaccine Program providers and partners to help reduce waste of high-cost vaccines like COVID-19 and Nirsevimab. Over 11,000 vials of COVID-19 vaccine remain in the field and are at risk of being wasted, and thousands of Nirsevimab doses are set to expire this fall. While there is no shortage of COVID-19 or RSV vaccine, we need your help to be good stewards of these valuable resources, so we can continue to maintain a system that supports equitable access and operational efficiency for providers across our state.
Providers are encouraged to check inventory, post excess doses on the IIS Vaccine Advertisement page, and order smaller amounts more frequently.
For help with transfers, please refer to the Vaccine Transfer Checklist and FAQs; information on vaccine ordering, returns and choice can be found here. You can also reach out to us at WAChildhoodVaccines@doh.wa.gov.

ISA Renewals
The DOH provider enrollment team is working to renew the Information Sharing Agreements (ISAs) for organizations participating in the WAIIS. Please check your records to ensure your ISAs are up to date as these agreements expire every 3 years. You may lose connectivity to the IIS if no response is received during our review and cleanup of IIS data.
If you are not up to date, click here to renew your agreement or contact pchoiisa@doh.wa.gov for any additional questions.
