Improve adult vaccination rates and develop a nationwide QI program!

We need 20 practices to participate in this study for Washington. We anticipate about 4 hours of time commitment for the control group and 20 hours for the intervention group, over the next 2 years (through September 2026). The intervention groups are eligible for a $250 stipend each year, for two years. A vaccine program consultation, summary report, and lunch will be provided to both groups during the pre and post study assessment.

Responsibilities of the intervention groups include:

• Identification of an Immunization Champion to be the go-to person for all clinical staff within the practice on immunization issues. The Immunization Champion may be, but does not need to be, a physician.
• The Immunization Champion will work with DOH to build and test a NEW national Adult IQIP program under development. This will involve measuring immunization coverage and using tools to increase vaccine acceptance, including:
  • CME training on ways to communicate with patients.
  • Use of a provider app for vaccine information.
  • Patient education through a highly interactive and tailored website.
  • Standing orders for vaccinations.
