The Podiatric Medical Board (PMB), after its regular business meeting on Thursday, October 17, 2024, 9:00 AM (PDT), will conduct a rules workshop.
During the workshop, the PMB will consider amendments to WAC 246-922-055 - reciprocity requirements to comply with Second Substitute House Bill (2SHB) 1724 (chapter 425, Laws of 2023), Section 8. The intent of 2SHB 1724, Section 8 is to open pathways for licensure and reduce barriers towards obtaining credentials as a podiatric physician and surgeon in Washington State (WA).
As with all rules, Department of Health (department) and the PMB welcomes your participation and would like to provide interested parties the opportunity to share thoughts, concerns, and general comments.
The department filed a CR-101 as WSR 24-16-137 on August 6, 2024. Interested parties and guests will be notified through GovDelivery of the physical location and receive a Zoom meeting link, as well the agenda, no less than 72hrs prior the board's regular business meeting and intended rules workshop.
For those wanting more information or wish to provide comments on the proposed amendment(s) either verbally, or in-writing before, during, or after the rules workshop please contact the Program Manager, Tommy.simpson@doh.wa.gov, or written comments can be sent to Podiatric@doh.wa.gov.
