COVID-19 vaccines are still available at no cost for most people, but it can be challenging to understand the details of coverage for adults and children who are uninsured or underinsured.

Test to Treat Opportunities for Patients
|
|
The federal government extended its Home Test to Treat program to offer free testing, telehealth, and treatments for both COVID-19 and flu. Services are available to adults who are uninsured or underinsured, on Medicare or Medicaid, or receive care from the Veteran’s Administration or Indian Health Services. Prescribed treatments can be shipped to patients’ homes or picked up at a local pharmacy. |

Funding Opportunity
Applications are open until January 15 for microgrants to host Black community events with a health component. The $1,000 microgrants can support costs for expenses such as materials, services, and essential requirements for events offering vaccinations, screenings, informative discussions, or referrals. Interested organizations can learn more and apply on the Elevate Black Wellness website.

February 16: Post COVID-19 Conditions: Expanding Our Understanding of Long-term Sequelae of COVID-19 with Dr. Eric Chow, MD, MS, MPH.
Dr. Chow will return to provide new information about terms and case definitions associated with Long COVID diagnoses, describe clinical features and risk factors, and explore the epidemiology and possible etiologies for post-COVID conditions.

March 29: Unmasking Long COVID: Insights and Updates from University of Washington Clinical Research with Helen Chu, MD, MPH.
This presentation sheds light on the newest insights and research into Long COVID at the University of Washington, gives a broad overview of several ongoing studies and clinical trials done by Dr. Chu’s team, and covers recent findings from their work.

April 19: Building Relationships and Establishing Trust
Dr. Andrasik will present historical and contemporary factors associated with increased mistrust and distrust among priority communities and effective methods for engaging with communities to identify strategies to create safe, welcoming, and affirming spaces.
May 10: Addressing Vaccine Hesitancy
This presentation will cover the factors that fuel vaccine hesitancy and effective strategies to address it, including patient-centered approaches and trusted messenger interventions.
