2022-23 Flu Vaccine Is Available to Order

Flu vaccine is available to order in the IIS.

Our flu allocation has reached a level that allows us to open flu vaccine ordering. You will now see another order set on the create order page with the State Supplied Flu 2022-23 order set available (see image below).

As in the past, expect adjustments to orders early on to accommodate availability for all providers. Please try to schedule larger flu clinics for late September or early October when we anticipate greater supply availability.

This season we are not requiring providers to utilize the multi-dose vial (MDV). We ordered only a small amount of the MDV for those clinics that indicated a need for storage capacity.

We also do not receive the same amount of product for each vaccine at the same time.

This is the vaccine we currently have available (see below). Please remember this vaccine is for approximately 1000 providers.

2022-23 flu vaccine available

Keep in mind, the childhood vaccine doses are shipped differently than privately purchased flu vaccine doses. The manufacturers ship the vaccine to McKesson in phases. McKesson then notifies the CDC of the quantity received. The CDC then makes an allocation for each State. See diagram below.
