Is Your Facility Moving Locations?

If your clinic is moving locations, please provide several weeks notice to the Childhood Vaccine Program so we can give appropriate guidance to help the process go smoothly and ensure vaccines are stored appropriately throughout the relocation. It is also important to update your Childhood Vaccine Program provider agreement when your clinic moves locations to ensure vaccine continues to be shipped to the appropriate address.

A new resource has been posted to our webpage to assist you in this process. Please check out the Clinic Move Checklist.

Menactra Supply Update

Sanofi's MCV4 vaccine, Menactra is no longer available. Orders that have not been approved yet will be changed to Sanofi's other MCV4 vaccine, MenQuadfi. We are in the process of restricting Menactra from order sets in the IIS. Please order MenQuadfi instead if your order set still allows you to order Menactra.

Returning Vaccines

When vaccine expires or spoils prior to the expiration date, returning the vaccine to the distributor allows the Childhood Vaccine Program to recover the tax cost on those doses. Please use the Online Vaccine Returns Quick Reference Guide to submit your vaccine returns in the IIS.

Remember, you can only return already expired doses or spoiled doses that are unopened. Please do not try to return doses that are not expired or spoiled. Open multi-dose vials should be wasted according to your clinic's policy and then documented in the IIS accordingly.

Helpful Hints

Reminder: Avoid wasted vaccine by using up doses before switching to a new vaccine or different brand of vaccine. We want to avoid unnecessary waste of publicly funded vaccines. Try using the reminder/recall report to finish up remaining doses.
