During the back to school rush your clinic may need to order additional doses to meet the demand for patients needing school required immunizations. We have some tools available for you when placing vaccine orders. If you're unsure how many doses to order, please check out our downloadable Recommended Order Quantity (ROQ) Calculator tool that helps you estimate the recommended quantity to order based on your frequency, doses used last month, and your current physical inventory. If you believe you need to order more doses than your recommended order quantity (ROQ), please ensure you enter a comment in your order to indicate any special circumstances like back to school immunization clinics, fairs, or events that may increase your need.

Vaccine storage unit requirements will be changing to no longer allow the use of household combination refrigerator/freezer units. Any enrolled sites using the fridge or freezer section of a household combination unit will be required to upgrade to pharmaceutical or stand-alone units by January 2023. This change only affects sites who are still using household combination units to store publicly-supplied vaccine. We are implementing this change to help prevent vaccine loss that results in waste of public funds and to help ensure patients receive viable and effective vaccines.
We encourage sites to plan ahead and upgrade to pharmaceutical or stand-alone storage units as soon as feasible. For additional information, please review our updated Vaccine Storage Unit Guide.
