Avoid Vaccine Order Delays

Submit your 2022 Provider Agreement renewal now!  So far, only 51% of providers due to renew their Provider Agreements by March 31st have completed this requirement. Without an approved Provider Agreement for the new year, your clinic will not be able to order childhood vaccines. Please use the resources below to assist you in this process as soon as possible.

CVP Doses Administered Outside Age Range

We have restarted our outreach to providers identified as having administered Childhood Vaccine Program (CVP) vaccine to patients 19 years and older. The outreach will come in the form of an email with information about the publicly supplied vaccine in question along with a link to complete a short questionnaire. As you know CVP vaccine cannot be administered to anyone 19 years and older. If this occurs and you have privately supplied vaccine, we are asking providers to replace the misused doses from your  private supply and report the incident using the Vaccine Loss Log, choosing Code 4 for Misuse: Administered to Adult.  Please contact us at WAChildhoodVaccines@doh.wa.gov or 360-236-2VAX with questions.

2021 Year End Data

The 2021 year end data was emailed out today. If you were expecting it and did not receive it, please let us know by emailing WAChildhoodVaccines@doh.wa.gov

Thank you for your patience.

2022 Child & Adolescent Immunization Schedule

Check out the “2022 Recommended Child and Adolescent Immunization Schedule for Ages 18 Years or Younger.” Per the CDC’s “Schedule Changes & Guidance” page, the following additional changes were made to the childhood and adolescent schedule:

  • The Hib note was revised to include recommendations for using Vaxelis for routine and catch-up vaccination in children less than 5 years of age.
  • Hepatitis A vaccine was revised to show 12-23 months of age as the routine recommended ages. Last year’s scheduled showed routine hepatitis A vaccination was recommended beginning at age 12 months.
  • The hepatitis B note was revised to clarify the recommendation for post-vaccination serologic testing and revaccination
    • Post-vaccination serology testing and revaccination (if anti-HBs < 10mlU/mL) is recommended for certain populations, including: a. Infants born to HBsAg-positive mothers; b. Hemodialysis patients; c. Other immunocompromised persons
  • The HPV note was revised to clarify the need for a 3-dose series for persons with immunocompromising conditions, including HIV infection.
  • The “Special situations” section in the Influenza note was moved to the newly created appendix of contraindications and precautions.
  • The MMR and varicella notes now include information on recommendations for use of MMRV.
    • For dose 1 in children age 12–47 months, it is recommended to administer MMR and varicella vaccines separately. MMRV may be used if parents or caregivers express a preference.
    • Minimum interval between MMRV doses: 3 months.
