CDC Ordering System Down

CDC's vaccine ordering system will be down for maintenance this week. It will be unavailable Tuesday, September 29 from 6:00 p.m. to Friday, October 2 at 6:00 a.m. During this time, no vaccine orders can be processed. Please plan for this and expect a short delay in your vaccine order.

Flu Vaccine Supply Update

We've been hearing rumors that there is a flu vaccine shortage this year and we want to clear up that rumor and let you know that there is not a shortage.  We have ample supply of flu vaccine this season. Washington pre-booked more than was used last flu season, and CDC allocated an additional 44,000 doses on top of that.

Although we will have plenty of flu vaccine for the season, right now, we have a little over 60% of our allocation. Due to the lower allocations early on this season we have been adjusting some flu vaccine orders to allow all providers to receive some vaccine to get started this season.

Our process is to take the percentage of vaccine we have received and apply that to the greater amount of flu vaccine ordered during the last two flu seasons.

Example: a provider orders 100 doses last season and 80 doses the season before, we take the 100 doses and multiply that by 60% giving the provider a total of 60 doses approved to order at this time.

This is to ensure that vaccine is available for all providers early on. As we progress through the season and definitely once we have 100% of our allocation these restrictions will be lifted.

If you are planning for a flu event and need a large quantity of vaccine early on, please let us know in the comment section of your order. Each request is reviewed individually.

We should be receiving Flucelvax doses mid-October and that vaccine will then become available to order as well.

We know it is a busy time and we want all providers to have flu vaccine to get a strong start this season. We appreciate your hard work and efforts to ensure Washington children are vaccinated against the flu.

Vaccine Choice Ends Soon

Just a reminder that vaccine choice is scheduled to end on September 30th. Now is the time to get those requests in if you would like to have a change to your order set.

Additionally, changes are taking a lot longer to make this year due to the Coronavirus outbreak and how it has shifted how we are conducting business. We are working diligently to get these updated timely, but may take longer than the normal due to the unique circumstances. Please be patient and as always if you have any question please feel free to contact us.
