Stakeholder Notice – Feedback for Whistleblower Complaints in Healthcare Settings Rules, Ch 246-15 WAC

Dear stakeholder,

During the 2019 legislative session, the legislature passed SHB1049 which updated RCW 43.70.075 - Identity of whistleblower protected—Remedy for retaliatory action—Definitions—Rules. As a result, the Department of Health is collecting feedback to update Ch 246-15 WAC – Whistleblower Complaints in Healthcare Settings.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and to support the Governor’s “Stay Home. Stay Safe!” proclamation, we have decided not to hold stakeholder workshops in person and instead solicit feedback in writing. Attached is the current draft of the proposed rules. Please review and send any comments or questions you have to Marlee O’Neill at marlee.oneill@doh.wa.gov. We will continue accepting comments until close of business Wednesday, October 7^th, 2020.

Please keep in mind there will be additional opportunities to comment in the rulemaking process such as after the CR102 is filed and at the rules hearing.
