Pnuemovax 23 on Backorder

Pnuemovax 23 is currently out of stock at the McKesson depot that services the Western half of the US. Remember, this vaccine is for a very specific population and therefore not widely used.

Most clinics don’t order this vaccine and those that do may only need to order 1-2 doses. If you have a need for more than 2 doses please include a comment regarding the need for additional doses.

Open MDVs Not Transferrable

When submitting a Vaccine Transfer Request, remember that open multi-dose vials are not eligible for transfers. The only exception to this is a facility transporting vaccine to or from an offsite clinic, so long as the vaccine does not change facilities.

Additional transfer guideline information can be found in the Storage and Handling Toolkit.

2018-2019 Flu Season Summary

The majority of flu vaccine will expire on June 30, 2019. Flu vaccine can be used up until its expiration date. Remind patients, even if they get a flu shot in June, they will need a shot this fall for next flu season.

Remember adjust your inventory and complete an online vaccine return for doses that have expired. You are unable to return doses before they expire.

Vaccine Standing Orders Survey

Please complete an anonymous survey about the use of vaccine standing orders at your clinic or pharmacy. The survey should take about 3 minutes to complete. The Department of Health, Office of Immunization and Child Profile will use the feedback you provide for future development of training and education about the availability and use of vaccine standing orders. Thank you in advance for your time in completing this survey!
