Chapter 296-20 WAC, Medical Aid Rules - Reopenings
The Department of Labor & Industries filed a CR-102 proposed rulemaking relating to Chapter 296-20 WAC with the Office of the Code Reviser.
The proposed rulemaking is amending WAC 296-20-097 to make the rule consistent with the statutory change passed during the 2022 legislative session, Substitute House Bill 1902. The purpose of the proposed rule is to change the amount of time the department or self-insurer can pay time-loss and treatment benefits prior to the date the application to reopening the claim is received by the department or self-insurer.

The Department of Labor & Industries has scheduled one virtual public hearing to solicit comments on proposed rulemaking related to updating the reopenings rule. All testimony and written comments become part of the public record.

Anticipated Adoption Date
The proposed rules are scheduled for adoption on February 14, 2023 with a scheduled effective date of March 17, 2023.
