City of Walla Walla is hiring for temporary Public Works positions

The City of Walla Walla invites qualified candidates to apply for these temporary, full-time positions with six-month durations:

Streets Maintenance Worker

Salary range: $22 per hour without CDL, $24 per hour with CDL

Nature of position: Perform a variety of duties in the installation, repair and preventive maintenance of wastewater mains and laterals; maintain and repair streets; operate and maintain vehicles and specialized equipment, some of which are used to maintain and repair wastewater lines, related systems, grease traps and vaults; maintain and operate hand and power tools; perform street sweeping and flushing, creek culvert maintenance and repair, street striping and vehicle washing.

Landfill Equipment Operator

Salary range: $22 per hour without CDL, $24 per hour with CDL

Nature of position: Safe operation and maintenance of heavy equipment on City properties. Daily activities include processing and disposal of incoming solid waste; receiving and processing of green waste and other raw products into commercial compost; processing and handling of household waste; working outside in all weather conditions as needed; performing manual labor activities such as weed eating, mowing, litter pickup, etc.
