At the Feb. 25, 2026, regular meeting, the Walla Walla City Council voted to appoint Emily Brown to fill the vacant Position #6.
Councilmember Brown fills the vacancy immediately, with her first meeting being the March 9, 2026, City Council work session.
The appointment will expire upon the certification of the results of the November 2027 General Election, when Position #6 is up for election.
At the Jan. 14, 2026, regular meeting, the City Council decided to utilize an application process to fill the vacancy, which opened when former Mayor Tom Scribner resigned on Dec. 31, 2025. The City Council interviewed 12 applicants at the Feb. 23, 2026, work session.
“Thank you to all the candidates who took the time to submit an application, interview with the City Council and were willing to serve their community” said City Manager Elizabeth Chamberlain.
