 Trees, shrubs and groundcover plants await planting at the future Seaway Transit Center.
The arrival of truckloads of plants at the future Seaway Transit Center has infused a lot of green into the site, a softening contrast to the concrete of the driveways and bus lanes.
Dozens of trees, hundreds of shrubs and thousands of groundcover plants will eventually cover an acre of the site, one-third of the entire transit center.
The eastbound right lane of 75th St. will close as needed to make room for landscaping crews. Bus service will not be affected.

 Crews Focused on Electrical and Concrete Work
Over the next two weeks, electrical and concrete crews will be at several different construction sites of future Swift Green Line stations.
Electrical work is planned for stations on Airport Rd. and on southbound Bothell-Everett Hwy. at 208th St. Concrete crews will install curbs, sidewalks and platforms on southbound Bothell-Everett Hwy. at 180th St. and 196th St.
On southbound Bothell-Everett Hwy. at 164th St., crews have finished working on the sewer and storm drains, and are now focusing on building a retaining wall for the station. This work will take two weeks, beginning with nighttime excavation (scheduled for the night of Oct. 14 and Oct. 15) then daytime setting and pouring concrete for the wall.

 Only One Week to Go
Crews have been working on the 33 Swift Blue Line stations since June, revamping them with refreshed welcome mats and a new coat of bright blue paint.
The project is now nearly complete, with only two more stations left to paint.

While a station is being painted, it is enclosed and fenced. Riders board their Swift bus at a nearby temporary stop and pay their fare when they deboard.

 Construction Includes Four Areas, Several Stages
The Swift Green Line will run between the Canyon Park Park & Ride in Bothell and the Seaway Transit Center, which is currently under construction near the Boeing Everett plant.
Swift Green Line buses will serve 34 stations at 16 intersections and two terminals every 10 minutes weekdays, and every 20 minutes nights and weekends.
Community Transit is building the stations in stages: underground utility work, concrete platforms, and finally the station structures.
Construction began in Area 1, the northernmost part of the route, and will generally move east and south, resulting in each station being visited several times in 2018.
Swift stations will provide weather protection, seating, adequate lighting, real-time next bus signs, and a rider information kiosk. ORCA smart card readers and ticket vending machines will provide quick and easy ways for riders to pay their fare before boarding a Swift bus.
The Swift Green Line will connect with the Swift Blue Line at Hwy 99 & Airport Rd., establishing Snohomish County’s first high-capacity transit network. The network will eventually include more Swift lines and Link light rail.
The Swift Green Line will begin service in spring 2019.
