Lane Closures This Weekend at Three Station Construction Sites
Three station construction sites will be busy this weekend while crews install a concrete bus pad into the lane of traffic. The concrete pads are hardier than asphalt, and better suited for the frequency of Swift service.

Many Questions Answered at Mill Creek Festival
Approximately 1,500 people visited us at the Mill Creek Festival last weekend, chatting with our staff about Swift Green Line.
Questions ranged from construction timelines to launch date to how Swift service is different than local bus service.
What about Canyon Park Park & Ride?
The Canyon Park Park & Ride will be the southern terminus for the Swift Green Line when it opens next spring, and is the final segment of station construction.
The concrete bus pad for the Canyon Park station is scheduled to be installed over a weekend in August, with no impact to service.
The station itself will be built on the 17th St. side of the park and ride, where motorcycle parking is currently located. Construction is expected to begin in early fall, and will include relocating bike lockers and restructuring curbs to allow other buses enough room to pass.

 128th St Widening Project is Nearly Complete
With last week's opening of the right-turn lane from westbound 128th St. onto the northbound I-5 on-ramp, the widening of 128th St. is nearly complete.
The bus-only and queue jump feature of the westbound lane, pictured here, will open in mid-August after WSDOT completes a repaving project in the area.
Crews are scheduled to paint striping on the new right-turn lane from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Sunday, July 22.
Fencing and landscaping work will continue during the day as weather permits, but will not require any lane closures.

 Repainting Project One-Third Complete
The project to repaint the 33 Swift Blue Line stations is one-third complete.
Crews finished painting the southbound stations on Evergreen Way at Pecks Dr. and 4th St. (pictured) this week, concluding the first phase of the Swift Blue Line station repainting project.
The second phase has begun with pressure washing the next group of ten stations; pressure washing occurs during overnight hours, so there will be no impact to service.
Painting Resumes Monday, July 30
On Monday, July 30, the following southbound stations on SR 99 will be closed:
These stations will be closed for about a week; during this time, please follow the signs to board Swift at the nearby local bus stop and pay your fare when de-boarding.

 Construction Focuses on Center Island of Future Transit Center
Construction crews at the site of the future Seaway Transit Center are currently focused on the "island"— a large area in the center of the site that includes sidewalks, landscaping and the mechanical building.
Light poles have already been installed in the island, and concrete sidewalks are being formed and poured (see photo).
Next week (July 23-27), crews will begin laying irrigation lines to prepare for landscaping that will begin in August.
Painting, plumbing and electrical work will continue in the mechanical building through August. This building (shown in photo) will house the electrical and communications systems and plumbing and irrigation controls for the transit center.
75th Street: Intermittent Lane Closures
During the week of July 23-27, intermittent lane closures are possible on 75th St. to allow crews to remove the temporary wooden traffic poles from the intersection with PUD and the transit center.
Lane closures will occur as needed, and may include up to one lane in each direction.

 Construction Includes Four Areas, Several Stages
The Swift Green Line will run between the Canyon Park Park & Ride in Bothell and the Seaway Transit Center, which is currently under construction near the Boeing Everett plant.
Swift Green Line buses will serve 34 stations at 16 intersections and two terminals every 10 minutes weekdays, and every 20 minutes nights and weekends.
Community Transit is building the stations in stages: underground utility work, concrete platforms, and finally the station structures.
Construction began in Area 1, the northernmost part of the route, and will generally move east and south, resulting in each station being visited several times in 2018.
Swift stations will provide weather protection, seating, adequate lighting, real-time next bus signs, and a rider information kiosk. ORCA smart card readers and ticket vending machines will provide quick and easy ways for riders to pay their fare before boarding a Swift bus.
The Swift Green Line will connect with the Swift Blue Line at Hwy 99 & Airport Rd., establishing Snohomish County’s first high-capacity transit network. The network will eventually include more Swift lines and Link light rail.
The Swift Green Line will begin service in spring 2019.
