 Swift Blue Line stations will be enclosed for a week at a time as they receive a fresh coat of paint this summer.
Community Transit will Paint the Town Blue this Summer
Community Transit will begin repainting Swift Blue Line stations on June 11.
Painting crews will be closing two southbound stations at a time, beginning in downtown Everett and working their way south on Hwy. 99. When the southern terminal station at Aurora Village is complete, crews will head back north, painting the northbound stations two at a time.
The stations will remain the same shade of blue, but the new paint is a special high-performance formula that should last 15 years.
It will take about a week to paint each station, and the project will continue through the summer. Stations will be enclosed during the painting. Learn more and see the schedule at www.communitytransit.org/SwiftPaint.
 Driver Logs 3 Million Miles without a Preventable Accident
Community Transit Bus Driver Ray Harnisch was honored last month for reaching three million miles on the road without a preventable accident. He is the second driver in the agency’s 41-year history to reach this milestone.
It’s a feat that would take the average American driver nearly 225 years to accomplish – the equivalent distance of 120 trips around the world or more than six trips to the moon and back.
The agency’s Million Mile Awards follow strict National Safety Council guidelines, and it takes about 12.5 years of full-time safe driving to reach each million-mile mark. For Harnisch, that’s 37 years of safe bus driving in stop-and-go traffic, day in and day out.
When he is on the road, he loves when young children wave at him. “I wave back at them,” he said. “I want them to know, when they get older and can ride our buses, that bus drivers are friendly. We’re there to help.”

 Join Us at Local Parades and Festivals this Summer
Community Transit’s summer parade and festival season starts in Marysville.
A Double Tall bus will parade down State Ave. on June 16 as part of the Marysville Strawberry Festival Annual Twilight Grand Parade.
During the summer, Community Transit staff and vehicles participate in many parades, festivals and community events to show our local pride and allow residents a chance to ask questions about transit service. Staff also engage in community outreach all year long.

Swift Green Line Stations Emerge along Airport Road
The Swift Green Line between Bothell and Boeing will open in spring 2019. Construction on the $73 million project is progressing rapidly.
The Seaway Transit Center is 80 percent complete. The widening of 128th Street at I-5 will be substantially done in a matter of weeks. And, construction of Swift Green Line stations is underway at 26 of the 34 station locations along the route.
Actual station structures have emerged along Airport Road near Paine Field. In Mill Creek, several station platforms have been completed and several have just begun. In Bothell, work will begin south to Canyon Park this summer. It’s getting real!
