 A temporary asphalt walkway at the re-opened bus stop on 75th St.
Before the holiday break, the Everett Transit bus stop located on 75th St. SW next to the Seaway Transit Center construction site was re-opened to serve Community Transit Route 105 and Everett Transit Route 8.
Passengers need to get on and off of the bus only through the front door, as the temporary asphalt walkway does not reach the back door area. A permanent sidewalk will be installed in the spring.
Construction at the transit center, including on Seaway Blvd. and 75th St., is stopped for the holiday week although supervisors will be on site to monitor safety conditions.
When work resumes on Tuesday, Jan. 2, lane closures will resume as follows:
- 75th St. SW: Narrowed to a single lane in both directions, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Seaway Blvd.: Northbound right lane will be closed 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Station Work to Begin Near Gibson Rd., Continues on Airport Rd.
Crews return from their holiday break on Tuesday, Jan. 2 to resume installing stations for the Swift Green Line.
Early work at the intersection of 128th Street SW and Gibson Road will result in the relocation of a nearby bus stop, affecting Community Transit Routes 101 and 105:
- Effective Jan. 3, the eastbound stop (#168) will be 415 feet east of Gibson Rd., immediately east of the construction.
On Airport Road north of Hwy. 99. periodic daytime (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) or nighttime (8 p.m. to 4 a.m.) closures of the far-right lane may occur next week at the following locations:
- Northbound, Airport Rd. and 112th St. SW
- Northbound, Airport Rd. and Kasch Park
- Southbound, Airport Rd. and Kasch Park
- Southbound, Airport Rd. and 100th St. SW

Sidewalk Work on Both Sides of I-5
The holiday week is a busy one for construction crews working on 128th Street SW near the I-5 overpass.
West of I-5
The sidewalk on the south side of 128th St. is complete and open from 4th St. to the Chevron station. The remaining section of the sidewalk (by Denny’s) will remain closed until the crosswalk over 128th St. is available to pedestrians.
The retaining wall by Denny’s and the wall by the bus merge lane will both have guardrails in place by the end of next week.
East of I-5
The sidewalk near the old bus stop has been demolished and removed. Crews will spend the next couple of weeks ensuring utility conduits are in place then pouring a new concrete sidewalk, weather permitting.
North of the sidewalk, work is being done to install drainage facilities, including a rain garden.

Swift Green Line is Coming in Early 2019
Swift is Community Transit's Bus Rapid Transit service. Bus Rapid Transit is different than regular local bus service — stations are spaced further apart, fares are paid at the station, buses come by more often, and passengers get on and off the bus in about 10 seconds.
The Swift Green Line will operate between the Canyon Park Park & Ride in Bothell and the new Seaway Transit Center being constructed near the Boeing Everett plant. It is expected to begin service in early 2019.
When the Swift Green Line connects with the existing Swift Blue Line at Highway 99 & Airport Road, it will establish Snohomish County’s first high-capacity transit network. The network will eventually include more Swift lines and Link light rail.
Along the Swift Green Line, 34 highly visible stations will provide weather protection, seating, adequate lighting, real-time next bus signs, and a rider information kiosk. ORCA smart card readers and ticket vending machines will provide quick and easy ways for riders to pay their fare before boarding their Swift bus.
Stations will be constructed throughout 2018 in stages: underground utility work, concrete platforms, and finally the station structures.
Swift Green Line will begin service in early 2019.
