Sound Barrier Wall Will Dampen Traffic Noise along 128th Street

A new sound barrier wall is being built just north of the Denny’s restaurant on 128th Street west of I-5.

The wall will dampen traffic noise associated with a new right-turn lane that will be built as part of the Swift Green Line bus rapid transit project.

Over the next two weeks:

  • The right lane of eastbound 128th St. will be closed between 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  •  Concrete will be poured on the sound barrier wall late next week.
  •  The sidewalk will remain closed, but businesses are open.

The Swift Green Line will open in 2019.

Workers use large cranes to help set lid covers for a massive cement storm retention vault at Seaway Transit Center

Nighttime Trenching Work on 75th Street Continues at Seaway Transit Center

Workers this week installed lid covers atop the massive storm water retention vault at the Seaway Transit Center site. Over the next week, the large mounds of dirt that were excavated for build the vault will be backfilled around the vault walls.

Meanwhile, a new traffic signal went live last week near the PUD station just east of the transit center site. As part of this work, lanes along 75th Street were re-striped.

Coming up:

  • Trenching continues across 75th Street to install storm drains and traffic signal power conduits. This will require traffic to be narrowed to one lane in each direction at night.
  • Once the storm water vault has been backfilled, more utility work will take place on site.
  • In late September, work will begin along Seaway Blvd. that will impact traffic on that road.
  • The Seaway Transit Center is on schedule to open for regular bus service in mid-to-late 2018.

Swift Green Line Service Map

Swift Green Line to Connect Bothell and Paine Field

Swift is Community Transit's Bus Rapid Transit service.

Washington State’s first bus rapid transit line opened in November 2009. The Swift Blue Line serves a 17-mile route between Everett and Shoreline. It provides fast, frequent and reliable service whether you are traveling from Everett to Lynnwood, Edmonds to Shoreline or anywhere in between.

The Swift Green Line will serve a 12.5-mile route between Paine Field/Boeing and Canyon Park/ Bothell. It is expected to begin service in early 2019.

The Swift Green Line will provide appealing choices for people to travel without a car. Because stations are further apart and fares are paid at the station, Swift buses offer rail-like quickness.

Not only will this route offer fast, frequent service to those living or working between Bothell and Boeing, but the connection to the Swift Blue Line will greatly expand the ease of transit use in our region.

The Swift Green Line will cross the Swift Blue Line at Airport Road and Highway 99, establishing a Swift network.

More Swift lines to the north and east of our county are planned for the future.
