Daytime Lane Closures Continue for Swift Green Line Construction

Crews are finishing work on an underground storm water retention tank on 128th St.

Crews are finishing work on an underground storm water retention tank on 128th St.

Work continues on two projects for the Swift Green Line bus rapid transit project, which is scheduled to open in early 2019.

Work to widen the eastbound lanes of 128th Street in south Everett west of I-5 continues this week.

Crews have the right lane closed between 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. - 5 a.m. to finish work on an underground storm water runoff tank.

The sidewalk on this street remains closed, but businesses are open.

When contractors finish building the new lane on this side of the freeway, they will begin work on a new lane east of the freeway, likely next summer.

New Traffic Signal on 75th Street to Go Live for Seaway Transit Center

With the walls done, more than 200 cubic yards of cement will be poured for the floor of the large storm water retention vault at the Seaway Transit C

The Seaway Transit Center construction site is looking different as crews finish the cement form of the massive storm water retention vault. About 200 cubic yards of cement will be poured next week to create the floor. Once that is set, dirt will be backfilled around the vault.

Coming up: Starting August 21, trenching across 75th Street will take place for storm and signal power cross-ings. That will require traffic to be narrowed to one lane in each direction during the work day all week.

Later next week, the new traffic signal in front of the PUD will be turned on and the lanes on 75th will be restriped.

The week of Aug. 28, final work on the vault will take place as the lids are put in place, then the backfilling of dirt will begin.

Storm drain work on 75th will continue throughout the week.

The transit center is on schedule to open for regular bus service in mid-to-late 2018.

Swift Network Map with Swift Green Line

Swift Green Line to Connect Bothell and Paine Field

Swift is Community Transit's Bus Rapid Transit service.

Washington State’s first bus rapid transit line opened in November 2009. The Swift Blue Line serves a 17-mile route between Everett and Shoreline. It provides fast, frequent and reliable service whether you are traveling from Everett to Lynnwood, Edmonds to Shoreline or anywhere in between.

The Swift Green Line will serve a 12.5-mile route between Paine Field/Boeing and Canyon Park/ Bothell. It is expected to begin service in early 2019.

The Swift Green Line will provide appealing choices for people to travel without a car. Because stations are further apart and fares are paid at the station, Swift buses offer rail-like quickness.

Not only will this route offer fast, frequent service to those living or working between Bothell and Boeing, but the connection to the Swift Blue Line will greatly expand the ease of transit use in our region.

The Swift Green Line will cross the Swift Blue Line at Airport Road and Highway 99, establishing a Swift network.

More Swift lines to the north and east of our county are planned for the future.
