Press Release Armed Robbery Camano Island

Begin Release February 26, 2017.


On February 25, 2017, at 1150 AM, A suspect walked into the Camano Island Coffee Roasters on Sunrise Blvd. brandishing a knife and demanding money.  The suspect went behind the counter and held the cashier at knifepoint stating "Give me the money now or I'm going to cut you". The cashier complied and the suspect left in a waiting vehicle with an undisclosed amount of cash.  At the time of the Robbery there were at least 6 customers in the store.  The suspect was described as an older white male, balding with a full beard and tattoos on his neck and hands.  

 

Camano Precinct Deputies arrived a short time later followed by Detectives from the Sheriff's Office Investigative Division. Using the surveillance video and statements from the witnesses, they were able to identify the suspect as 59 year old Richard ANTIS of Camano Island.  ANTIS was taken into custody without incident along with the driver of the vehicle 23 year old Joshua LOWERY, also from Camano Island.  

 

Both ANTIS and LOWERY are being held in the Island County Jail pending their first court appearance in Island County Superior Court on February 27, 2017.  The vehicle used in the armed robbery has been seized and held pending search warrants.
