Encaustic: Painting with Wax
Designed to give artists an introduction to the encaustic painting medium or as an open studio time for intermediate students, this hands-on course will teach the basics of encaustic painting including how to make your own wax medium, the basic tools needed and various techniques such as incising, scraping, layering wax, using stencils, metal imprinting tools and fusing with a torch.

Pinterest Projects: Paper Flower Wreath
These beautiful blooms are sure to put a spring in your step and brighten your door! Made from deconstructed book pages and embellishments, this fun workshop will provide supplies and instructions on how to make your own rolled page paper wreath! You can use provided supplies or bring your own special book or music pages to use.

Fused Glass for Mother’s Day Spend the afternoon making a special gift for mom out of pre-cut glass shapes, grit, and wet enamel. Moms can attend and sit separate from their kids to keep the gift a surprise. Following the class, the artwork will be fired by the artist in a kiln and will be available to pick-up the following week. You will be able to make up to three separate fused glass artworks. Ages under 15 must be accompanied by a guardian - both guardian and child must register for use of the materials. Ages 16 and over, 8-15 with guardian. Location: William C. Downtown Sculpture Gallery Walking Tour Saturday, April 18, 4 pm
Join the artists to walk through downtown and learn about the sculptures and public art on display. Tour will begin at B Street SW and Main Street and culminate at D St. NE and Main Street. An after event reception will take place at Zola's Cafe. Free no registration required.
