Celebrate Fathers Day early with some laughs at the June 16 Comedy at the Ave! Ty Barnett headlines the Saturday, June 16 show which starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Auburn Avenue Theater.
Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, Ty went directly into a six year stint with the United States Army. In 1996 he moved to Tacoma and began touring California, Oregon and Canada performing standup, eventually going on to be voted the “Up-and-coming Comedian of the Year” in 2002 at the Las Vegas Comedy Festial. Ty first gained the attention of Hollywood after being named “Outstanding Performer” at Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival, going on to make appereinces on The Late Late Show and P. Diddy Presents the Bad Boys of Comedy. In 2003 he made it to the semi-finals of CBS’s Star Search and in 2005 was featured on Comedy Central Presents with his own 30 minute special. In 2006 Ty was a runner-up on the season 4 of Last Comic Standing.
In 2007, the City of Auburn began the Comedy at the AVE Performance Series, expanding the entertainment offerings that have gone back over 30 years. Each monthly Comedy at the AVE features three comedians for a variety of entertainment to keep you laughing all night long.
