2012 Summer Adult Athletics

It is easy to register by phone, online or in person.

Basketball

This is a call-your-own league without officials, trophies or playoffs. A score keeper will be assigned to each game. Teams will play 10 games. There is a mandatory coaches' meeting at 8:00 PM on March 30 at the Parks, Arts & Recreation Administration Building, 910 Ninth ST SE. Registrations received after March 7 are assessed $25 late fee. Age 18 and over. Four roster forms must be turned in by the registration deadline for this registration to be accepted. Location: Gymnasium at Les Gove Park 18 years & older.

Flag Football

Six players per side play on a modified field with an intermediate size football. Teams play two games a day for a total of eight league games with division leaders advancing to the end of season playoffs. If enough registrations are not received for any one division they may be combined. $50 late fee. Location: Game Farm Park turf fields Ages: 18 and over

Turf Burn Flag Football Tournament Six-a-side teams participate in this three-game guarantee, open division non-contact flag football tournament. Early registration deadline is August 8 or until filled. Location: Game Farm Park turf fields Ages: 18 and over Aug 25-26 Sa-Su

Softball-Extended Season

Men’s, Women’s & Coed Leagues This late season league is for players who want to continue playing softball through the summer. Each team will play twelve games plus playoffs for those who qualify. Early registration deadline is June 13. Registrations receive after this date will be assessed a $50 late fee. Golf Group golf lessons for adults! Beginning golf instruction for adults will include golf rules, etiquette and physical skills. Instruction by Auburn Golf Course staff. Location: Golf Course Instructor: Golf Course Staff Ages: 15 and over

Auburn Team Tennis

Auburn Team Tennis is based on the USTA team tennis format. This is a coed team sport. Registrations will be taken by individuals and teams will be put together on July 9. Each team will play men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles, five sets. No add scoring will be used, first to 6 games wins the set. Total games, for all five sets, will be added up to see who wins the match. Registration deadline is June 29th. Player practice night and team forming night will be Monday July 9th, matches start July 11. Each team will play 6 matches. All teams will make a playoff on August 22. Location: Auburn High School Ages: 16 and over

Tennis - Adult Beginner

Tennis lessons will be offered for beginner and advanced beginner players. Learn the fundamentals of tennis: forehand, backhand, and serving. Tennis-Adult Intermediate

Participants will fine tune skills and learn and develop strategy for match play. Instruction will be in a 'team tennis style' practice atmosphere with both fundamental instruction and match play. Tennis experience is necessary. It is recommended that participants receive lessons prior to enrollment. Pre-requisite: minimum beginning lessons.
