Students Visit from Hangzhou China

Student Visit from Hangzhou China

Each year we are pleased to welcome visitors from all over the world to Auburn. Today we had a group of students from Tangqi Middle School in Hangzhou, China. This is one of five schools from Hangzhou that will visit us this summer. We always make sure that they get some Gosanko Chocolate and of course you'll likely see them at the Outlet Collection - if you do see them be sure to give them a warm Auburn "hello" and wish them well!

Business Spotlight: Guardian Home Services

Guardian Home Service

This week I had the pleasure of visiting Guardian Home Services on West Main Street in Downtown as part of my ongoing initiative to connect with the businesses in our community. Founders Lori and Matt Swanson (pictured above) both have extensive backgrounds in the roofing industry; with Matt coming from construction and Lori from a family of roofing contractors.

The couple decided to found Guardian Home Services in 2005 and have since built it from a small business collaboration into an up and coming regional roofing powerhouse. Guardian Home Services specializes in residential repairs and are committed to providing  on time arrivals, great customer service and straight forward pricing

They shared with me that their business strategy is based on strong values and business ethics which are evident throughout the organization and to clients across the region. Lori also explained that one secret to their success lies in the creation of innovative employee incentive programs as well as extensive benefits and ongoing training.

Their passion for maintaining a family-owned feeling coupled with their drive to set a high bar in the service industry has paid off and they have now grown to over 80 employees.

I enjoyed my time with their team and encourage you to consider buying local the next time you have roofing needs!
