City of Auburn is excited to announce
the purchase and sale of the historic landmark building located at 100 Auburn
Avenue. Plans are being made to bring this building back into public use and create a downtown Center for Arts and Culture.
Community input is needed!
You are invited to take an online survey available at www.auburnwa.gov/arts or in person at open house events:
- Tuesday, September 6, 4:30 – 6 pm as part of the Arts Commission Meeting
- Friday, September 9, 5:30 -8 pm as part of the Auburn Art Walk
- Thursday, September 22, 5:30 – 7pm
The purchase was
made possible in part by the Building for Culture grant program—a joint effort of
4Culture, King County Executive Dow Constantine, and King County Council.
Signed into law just in late 2015, this unprecedented $28M fund provides grants
to 102 arts, culture, and heritage projects throughout King County. As part of
this grant, the City of Auburn will receive $200,000 to go towards to the
purchase and renovation of this important building and transform it into an
Arts and Culture Center. In addition to
this grant, other funding and grant opportunities are being explored to be
applied towards the cost of the interior renovation of this building.
