On Thursday May 19th City Manager Jessie Baker, Chief of Police Shawn Burke and Army Major General Gregory Knight signed an agreement partnering with ARNG - PaYS program. 


The Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) Program is a strategic partnership between the U.S. Army and a cross section of corporations, companies, and public sector agencies.

Everyone loves a barbeque.  As Memorial Day weekend approaches kicking off the unofficial start of summer, backyard chefs are dusting off their grills, eager to spring into the long-awaited barbeque season.  Gas & charcoal BBQ cooking grills have become an essential part of our lifestyle. Unfortunately, cooking on gas and charcoal grills can also be dangerous.  The use and storage of solid fuel or propane cooking equipment on patios and balconies have resulted in a number of major fires in the state of Vermont.  Cooking is, and has long been, the leading cause of home structure fires and home fire injuries.

Chittenden Solid Waste District is hosting a variety of workshops this summer. Backyard Composting workshops, public tours of the Recycling Center, and more are already underway. Learn more, access the calendar, and register at

New Traffic Signals at the Intersection of Hinesburg Road and Tilley Drive

Tilley Drive Intersection

Final work is being completed to allow the new traffic signals at Hinesburg Road and Tilley Drive to be in operation by the end of this month, or in early June. Work will continue at the intersection on Wednesday, May 25th and Thursday May 26th, when Electric Light Company, Inc. will be installing the traffic signal cabinet and other ancillary equipment to be able to set the signals to flash mode. Line Striping is expected to be completed the week after, at that point the signal will be able to be set to normal operation.

SBRP Track Opportunities

Track & Field

Coaches Jane and Silas are back this season!  Come join them and other SBHS student-athletes to train in both track and field events. We look to schedule a mini-meet or two (Home-Away) with other area programs learn more and Register here.

Coach Lindsay Mott is instructing our Tykes/Kinderpro Track program again this summer.  Come join her at the SBHS track on Wednesday evenings and have fun!.  Learn More and register!

VA Telehealth Now Offered at The Library

VA Telehealth

Starting Monday, May 16, 2022, area Veterans will be able to access Veterans Affairs (VA) Telehealth at the new South Burlington Public Library (SBPL), located at 180 Market St. in South Burlington. 

Through a partnership with the White River Junction VA Healthcare System, the library offers a private, comfortable space designated for Veteran use. The space is fully equipped with an iPad that allows easy access to VA Video Connect, the application used by VA for virtual health care appointments. The new space includes medical equipment that may be required for some visits and offers enhanced privacy features. The Library is ADA accessible.
