 Intersection Improvement
Construction crews are at work widening the corners and approach lanes to the intersection of Community Drive and Kimball Avenue. The current four-way stop at the intersection will also be replaced by traffic signals that are expected to be installed by the end of the year.
 UPDATE: City-wide Reappraisal
The City is working toward concluding a reappraisal of residential and commercial properties. All commercial properties in the City have been visited and most of the residential properties. Residents who have yet to have their property reviewed can expect the visitations to begin again in mid-October.

 Baker Presents CCRPC Annual Report
Charlie Baker, the Executive Director of the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) appeared before the South Burlington City Council to present the Commission’s Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2020.

Temporary Permitting for Businesses
This spring, the Planning & Zoning Department put in place a series of temporary permitting measures to allow businesses to adapt to changing circumstances brought by the evolving pandemic. The temporary measures have now been extended through the end of the year.

 Building Homes Together Progress Report
The Building Homes Together Campaign, formed in 2016 to encourage production of housing in Chittenden County, released its annual progress report that showed continued overall success in new housing being created, but a persistent lack of affordable homes.

This past week, the Burlington International Airport’s Sound Committee, which includes representatives from affected communities including South Burlington, met and got a first look at a draft Implementation Plan.

The City has undertaken a significant project to digitize our records over the past 2 years. We are pleased to be able to offer permitting, development review, and permit research online.

 Progress on Public Library & City Hall
Work is moving quickly at the new South Burlington Public Library and City Hall. From the outside, the exterior is changing daily with siding and windows being installed. Inside, the space is starting to take shape. City Council, City Hall employees, Library employees, and state legislators have recently toured.
