Have Your Voice Heard – Complete the CHA Survey
In case you missed our latest news release, we have officially launched our Community Health Assessment (CHA) survey!
Why should you participate?
This 5–10-minute anonymous survey is to learn about the top health concerns, behaviors, and resource needs of residents living in the Greater Prince William region (Prince William County, Cities of Manassas, and Manassas Park) and neighboring counties.
In other words, by telling us what you need, we can work to create programs and services that make our community healthier.
Prefer to take the survey on paper? Paper copies of the survey will be available at all PWHD offices and certain partner organizations.

Celebrate Global Handwashing Day
Each year on October 15, Global Handwashing Day highlights the importance of handwashing with soap and water, especially during key times throughout the day. CDC has developed resources to promote handwashing in your community on Global Handwashing Day and throughout the year!
Washing your hands is easy—and it's one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs. Studies have shown that handwashing can prevent 1 in 3 diarrhea-related sicknesses and 1 in 5 respiratory infections, such as a cold or the flu.
Follow these five steps every time.
-
Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap.
-
Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
-
Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the "Happy Birthday" song from beginning to end twice.
-
Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
-
Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.
If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
