Tri-Area Community Health and Elk Creek Rescue Squad Telehealth Services
Patients in Grayson, Wythe, and surrounding communities may access virtual appointments with healthcare providers from Tri-Area Community Health. These appointments can be accessed through telehealth equipment located at the Elk Creek Rescue Squad building. The Rescue Squad staff will be on hand to assist patients with the intake process and connecting to the telehealth system. Individuals do not need to be existing Tri-Area patients to use the telehealth services.
Patients requiring lab work or injections will need to visit a full-service Tri-Area Clinic for these services. The location of the telehealth site within the Elk Creek Rescue Squad building aims to provide convenient access to healthcare services for the mentioned communities. The establishment of a telehealth site at the Elk Creek Rescue Squad building offers numerous benefits, including increased convenience, accessibility, cost savings, efficiency, continuity of care, community collaboration, and resource optimization.
Funding for the telehealth equipment at this location was provided by the Virginia State Office of Rural Health, highlighting a collaborative effort to improve healthcare accessibility in rural areas.
