Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Program Reopening Feb. 8
The Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Electronics Recycling program at the Landfill will reopen for service on Wednesday, Feb. 8. Drop-off service will return to regular operating hours for all Prince William County residents on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekly.
$1 Million Allotted for Startup Grants
The IGNITE Startup Grant applications are open with a $1 million fund offered to high-growth companies looking to expand or locate in Prince William County. Offered at the $25K, $50K, and $100K levels depending on the applicant’s qualifications, grant applications are rolling throughout 2023.
Universal Human Rights Day Celebrated in Prince William County
The Prince William Human Rights Commission recently celebrated Universal Human Rights Day while also marking 30 years of service to the residents of Prince William County.

National Burn Awareness Week is Feb. 5-11
According to the American Burn Association (ABA), burn injuries remain one of the leading causes of accidental death and injury in the U.S., with children, the elderly, and the disabled most vulnerable to burn injuries. Primary causes of these types of injuries are fire-flame, scalds, contact with hot objects, and electrical and chemical; these occur mostly in the home.
Prince William County Circuit Court Awarded Grant to Preserve Local Records
The Library of Virginia’s Circuit Court Records Preservation (CCRP) program has awarded Prince William County Circuit Court a grant in the amount of $53,859.50 for local records preservation.

Prince William County Department of Public Works Wins Award for Installing a Bandalong in Neabsco Creek
Tim Hughes, an environmental specialist with the Prince William County Public Works Department, recently accepted a Project of the Year Award from the American Public Works Association Mid-Atlantic Chapter.
The association’s 2023 project award in the “Environment Less than $5 Million” category was for installing a trash collection system called a Bandalong in Neabsco Creek.
