May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time for our community to learn, connect and take steps toward feeling better. Mental health is an important part of our overall health, and everyone deserves support and care.
This year, we want to remind you that small actions can make a big difference. We may not be able to control everything that happens in our lives, but we can build habits and supports that help us feel stronger, calmer and more resilient. This doesn't mean that every day will be perfect, it means taking steps to have more moments of wellness and fewer moments of struggle.

This year's event focuses on neurodivergent youth, featuring activities and information designed to celebrate their strengths and help families navigate available services.
Enjoy a fun, relaxing day with activities for all ages. Featuring food trucks, cooling tent, sensory giveaways, games and family-friendly activities.
The event takes place Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Clemyjontri Park, 6317 Georgetown Pike, McLean Va 22101.
Admission is free. However, we encourage you to register in advance to save your spot.

Underage Drinking Prevention
Nationally, alcohol is the most commonly used and abused drug among youth in the Unites States.
Research shows that parents are the number one reason young people decide not to drink. The sooner parents begin effectively communicating with their children about drinking, the better the chance we as a community have to reduce the exponential jump in percentage of youth who drink alcohol before their freshman year of high school.
