April is Alcohol Awareness Month. It’s a time to talk openly about alcohol use and where to find help.
The Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) offers many services for people who want to make changes in their relationship with alcohol. Whether you are just starting to wonder about your drinking or if you need more support, we are here to help at every step.

The Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) depends on caring, skilled people to help support residents who are working toward recovery and wellness. One program that plays a big role in this work is the Valued Interns & Volunteers in Action program, also known as VIVA!
VIVA! connects master’s-level interns and dedicated volunteers with programs across the CSB where they can learn, grow and make a difference. At any given time, more than 100 people are part of the program.

Discussing tough topics like fentanyl can feel challenging—no matter how close you are with someone. Explain to your loved ones and community that it’s important to learn about fentanyl so they know the risks and how to respond if someone they know overdoses.
Fentanyl Awareness Day is observed to help inform communities like ours about the dangers of illegally made fentanyl.

Movement is medicine for the mind. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) shares that regular physical activity helps reduce stress, improves sleep and boosts mood by releasing feel-good chemicals in the brain. Walking, dancing or gardening are all great ways to get moving!
