November Military Student Lunch Groups

m

The activity for November lunch groups will include a brief review of the Thought-Feeling-Action Triangle, followed by a game of the students’ choosing. The T-F-A Triangle depicts how a person has thoughts, feelings and actions as the result of an event. The three elements are distinct but connected. The series begins with an event, which is often outside of our control. We must then interpret the event by “telling ourselves a story in our head” with our thoughts.

Those thoughts will produce an emotion and based on the combination of thoughts and emotions we act. Those actions produce either consequences or rewards which further reinforce future thought patterns. The key takeaway is that we cannot always control the events that happen, but we can control how we think about those events and our behaviors.

Lunch groups are organized by class and occur once a month. Any military student who wishes to participate in the lunch groups must have a signed parent permission form.

Superintendent Community Conversations

Join Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid for a Community Conversation. Students, families, staff, and community members are invited to ask questions, share concerns, and discuss what matters most to them. Everyone is welcome!
