August 1-September 4, 2026: No Schedule Changes will be made in order to support new student/transfer registrations, final grades from summer programming, hard conflicts, errors in placement, or discussions on any schedule changes that occurred over the summer

September 8-25, 2026:Schedule Change Requests open for both Elective and Academic Level. All requests are pending space availability in the requested course and pending parent, teacher, and Subject Administrator approval. Schedule Change Request Form will be located in Student Services. All elective course changes must be completed within this window (Example: Art 1 to Photography 1).
- September 28, 2026-January 29, 2027:
- No Elective Change Requests
- All Academic Level Change Requests (Example: English 9 Honors to English 9) must complete the Academic Improvement Plan that involves a parent/teacher/student conference. The Academic Improvement Plan form will be located in Student Services.
- After the Academic Improvement Plan is completed and the student still wishes to move forward with the academic level change, the schedule request will be reviewed by a committee. Approval is not guaranteed and is based on seat availability in the requested course

February 1, 2027 and Beyond: No schedule changes will be permitted after this time (this includes Off Campus Waivers).
This fall, every FCPS student will receive a student identification (ID) card as part of a divisionwide effort to modernize school transportation, improve communication with families, and strengthen student safety while traveling to and from school.
Every student who rides the school bus will need to tap on and tap off the bus every day using their new student ID card. Families can help by reinforcing this new habit with their child.
All students at our school will need to wear their student ID cards throughout the school day. We will be handing out the new student ID cards the first few weeks of school. More details will be shared soon.

Justice High School will host Quarter 1 Parent University: “Building Your Digital Toolbox: A Night to Build a Shared Vision” on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Justice High School cafeteria.
Families will learn how to use important FCPS digital tools to support student success, including ParentVUE for monitoring grades, attendance, and updates; TalkingPoints for communicating with teachers in a preferred language; Naviance for exploring college and career opportunities; and other online resources. All families are welcome. Spanish translation will be provided, and raffle drawings will be held.
Class of 2027 students need to schedule senior portraits. Families can visit http://cady.com/schedule to book a session today. More information about booking your session can be found in the Senior Portrait Booking Flyer.
Families can choose to visit the CADY portrait studio in Herndon, VA or sign up for a session hosted at Justice HS. The last remaining Justice session will be on November 18th from 9:30am-6:00pm in the Little Theater.

Please join us at our annual Senior Parent College Night from 6-8pm on Thursday, September 24 in the Little Theatre. We will presenting on college timelines, transcript requests, senior packet as well as an opportunity to hear directly from a variety of college admissions representatives. We will be having Financial Aid Workshops later in the Fall.
On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, Justice High School 12th graders will have the opportunity to participate in the SAT School Day. FCPS will cover the cost for any 12th grade student who opts-in to take this test. The essay option and subject area tests are not available during SAT School Day.
To reserve a seat for your 12th grader to take this exam and ensure appropriate test materials are available for your student, students are asked to complete the form below. We are still taking late registrations!

Your student will need to use their @fcpsschools.net email account to access and complete this form. A translated version of the form content may be found on the SAT School Day Intent Form webpage (https://www.fcps.edu/node/43896). FCPS sites cannot accept walk-ins on the day of the exam.

Each student in Class of 2027 must have the Consent to Share Transcript to Colleges on file in order for the school to send the official transcript to 2-year/4-year colleges, military academies, military branches, scholarship organizations, and others. If this consent is not on file, we will not be able to release the official transcript to these organizations.
Part One: Please return completed forms to Ms. Bond in Student Services. If you've already signed the form, no need to sign again.
Part Two: Students must submit an Class of 2027 Official Transcript Request for EACH college/university and indicate whether we need to upload the transcript to a college portal, Common Application, Coalition Application, or email/mail directly to the College Admissions Office.
The Senior Packet helps the School Counselor create the senior's letter of recommendation for colleges and scholarships. The Class of 2027: Senior Landing Page includes links to the student's senior packet, Parent/Guardian Input Form, Teacher Input Form, and a Friend Input Form.
Class of 2027 held a Class Meeting in early April to discuss the Senior Packet and information is posted in Schoology. Senior Packet is due September 4, 2026. Links are also provided below:
All graduation gowns are custom made to order based on your student's height (length of gown) and weight (width of gown). We must have your student's information to place the order and we need to place the order by the end of October in order to receive the caps/gowns in time for graduation. We must place the order for the entire class at the same time - the company does not allow for individual orders nor late individual orders.

High school students and their families are invited to attend the annual FCPS college fair and the postsecondary virtual night event. The college fair will feature admissions representatives from more than 200 colleges and universities from across the United States and abroad. The fair will be held at George Mason University’s Eagle Bank Arena on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 4-6:00 p.m.
The postsecondary virtual night event will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026, from 5-8:00 p.m. The virtual event will feature workshops related to the college admissions process, financial aid, and other postsecondary educational opportunities.
Please encourage students to register for these events if they plan to attend. Both events can help students be better prepared for the next chapter of their educational journey.

Register now for the annual Special Education Family Conference: Connected Communities, Thriving Students. The free conference will take place on Saturday, November 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hayfield Secondary School.
Hosted by FCPS in collaboration with community partners, the conference highlights the power of partnerships in supporting student success. Families, educators, and community members are invited to connect, learn, and explore available special education services, supports, and resources.
The conference will feature an inspiring opening session, engaging breakout sessions, an exhibitor hall with local resources, and lunch for all participants.

All Fairfax County middle and high school students can get a Student Bus Pass SmarTrip card to ride the Fairfax Connector and Fairfax CUE buses for free! With the pass, fares are free from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, all year. Learn more about the Student Pass. Complete the application and return it to Ms. Bond in Student Services (or pick up a paper application)
Our students can ride Metrobus for free, in addition to the Fairfax Connector and City of Fairfax CUE. Visit the Fairfax County website for details and approved Metrobus routes. Complete the application and return it to our front office.
If students ride on an unauthorized route, MetroBus will deactivate the card immediately. Students can receive up to two replacement cards.

Justice High School is a proud partner with Food for Neighbors, a local organization who helps to feed our students outside of school hours.
The Red Bag Program is filled five times a year and provided to needy families. Food for Neighbors will drop off an empty Red Bag with a list of items. You can support by purchasing some food items that is provided on the list. Leave the Red Bag outside your door and Food for Neighbors will come pick it up.

Description: A free health fair offering a variety of services, information, and resources for Mason residents including flu vaccines, hearing and vision screenings, child dental screenings, HIV tests, Hepatitis C tests, and more.
FCPS, in partnership with Inspire Health Alliance, will be providing school-required immunizations and optional flu shots for all FCPS students, ages 18 and under, with no out-of-pocket costs. Multiple events will take place at designated FCPS locations.
Additional dates will be made available throughout the school year. Parents or guardians may view upcoming events and schedule an appointment for their student. Participation is voluntary. Additional immunization resources are also available.
As we look ahead to the upcoming school year, the health and well-being of our students continues to be one of our priorities. Staying up to date with your child's flu vaccination helps:
- Reduce School Absences: Keeping students healthy means more time spent learning and engaging with peers.
- Protect the Community: Vaccination helps shield vulnerable family members and neighbors from seasonal illness.
- Support Overall Wellness: Routine flu shots are a key component of a proactive student health plan.
Upcoming Flu Shot Events

Child Care Assistance
Finding affordable child care can be a huge challenge for families and can even make it difficult to find and keep a job. Child care assistance helps eligible families with the cost of child care from birth to age 12 in family child care homes, centers and school-aged child care.
Energy Assistance
Heating and cooling costs can be a significant strain on household budgets. There are several options for energy assistance programs:

Cooling Assistance helps keep vulnerable Fairfax County residents cool during the summer months. To be eligible, at least one household member must be: 60 or older, 5 or younger, or disabled according to Social Security, Medicaid or 100% Veteran’s Administration. Applications accepted June 15-August 17.

Fuel Assistance helps pay heating costs for eligible households. Applications accepted from the second Tuesday in October through the second Friday in November. Approvals are notified in December and benefits are paid out starting in January.

Crisis Assistance supports households facing a “no heat” situation, like broken equipment or a disconnection notice. Applications accepted November 1-March 15.

Senior Cool Care provides air conditioning units or fans for eligible older adults (age 60+). Program is open May through October.
Financial Assistance
The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program provides financial assistance to households with eligible children. TANF participants also have access to the Virginia Initiative for Education and Work (VIEW) Program to support the journey to self-sufficiency.
Food Assistance
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides individuals and families with money to purchase food at grocery stores, farmers markets, and select other retailers. Participants receive funds monthly through a EBT card that works like a debit card. Learn more about SNAP and how it can help you.
Housing Assistance
Please contact Coordinated Services Planning at 703-222-0880 (TTY 711), Monday - Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A Human Services Specialist will work with you to identify your family's needs and to determine eligibility for shelter or other emergency services and make the necessary referrals.
If you need assistance after normal business hours, please go directly to the nearest family shelter (see below).
Medical Assistance
Over 150,000 Fairfax County residents participate in Medicaid, accessing high-quality low- or no-cost health insurance and dental coverage. Medicaid covers adults and children, and additional services may be available for children with disabilities. Learn more about Medicaid and why you should apply now.
If you do not qualify for Medicaid, there are other free or low-cost healthcare options available in Fairfax County. Learn more about services offered to put your health first today.
Pet Resource Center
If you have a pet, there are low-cost animal resources available in Fairfax County to help you care for pets and keep them at home. Learn about financial assistance for vaccines, spay/neuter, medical costs, food and supplies, and more.
Formed Families Forward is offering the free Fairfax Kinship Support Groups in partnership with the Department of Family Services.
Are you raising a child for a family member or friend? Join other kinship caregivers to discuss your experiences, concerns, and frustrations with your peers. This group offers a network to share resources and information among the group members, reducing feelings of isolation, and celebrating family successes in maintaining permanency for and the ongoing commitment to building strong families.
In-person groups will be held at Fairfax County Community Centers with the support of Neighborhood and Community Services on the third Thursday of each month. Virtual Groups will be offered on the first Thursday of each month via Zoom. Register online.
Fairfax County Department of Family Services offers The Parent Support Line (PSL) for parents and caregivers of children ages 0-18 years old. Talk with trained parenting specialists for guidance on a wide range of topics including the stages of child development (0-18 years), reducing parental stress, strengthening the parent-child bond, and accessing community resources.
The PSL is a trusted resource for parents and caregivers across different social, financial, and educational backgrounds, and parenting styles. Anyone who works with children is also welcome to call with questions or concerns. Language support is available.

The core curriculum is the same as the basic Parenting Education Programs but it also emphasizes how African American history has affected the parenting style for African Americans. This curriculum delves into African American history, culture, and traditions.

Virtual therapy sessions are available to FCPS high school students at no cost to provide a safe space to address concerns such as:
- Mood/behavior changes, motivation, grief/loss
- Anxiety, worry, fears
- Social skills, bullying, peer and family relationships
- Academic stress

Children go through a lot of changes, and it can be hard to tell if their behavior is developmentally appropriate or if they could benefit from mental health support. It’s important to talk to your child and pay attention to their actions, especially these warning signs:
- Increased irritability, hyperactivity, energy, and/or aggressive behavior.
- Excessive sadness, hopelessness, or worries.
- Loss of appetite, or significant weight gain or loss.
- Lack of sleep or too much sleep.
- A decline in grades, school avoidance, or attendance concerns.
- Alcohol or drug use.
- Withdrawal from activities and/or friends and family.
- Thoughts of harming themselves or others.
If you notice any of these warning signs or feel your child may be experiencing a mental health challenge, help is available. Please contact your child's school counselor to discuss your concerns and identify resources. Find additional ways to support your child’s wellness.
