Chantilly A/B Day Calendar

A Note from Dr. Goodloe:

Dear Chantilly Community,

This week at Chantilly we celebrated our Class of 2026 as 776 Chargers graduated and walked the stage at Eagle Bank Arena. My message to our graduates was to take charge as they embark on the next stage of their learning journeys. While we know a new adventure is filled with excitement, we also know it can be riddled with uncertainty. I shared that while we cannot always control what happens in life, we can always control how we respond and show up. I am confident our Chargers will continue to take charge with kindness, empathy, and commitment as they move on from Chantilly. WE are so proud of all of their accomplishments and look forward to celebrating their successes well into the future!

Chantilly alumna in the news: I encourage you to check the FCPS website for a story about Lindsay D’Imperio, Chantilly HS 2019 grad, who was a finalist for 2025 Outstanding New Teacher. WE are so proud of our Chargers!

As the end of the year quickly approaches, we invite you to stay up to date with school events and schedules. The Chantilly High School webpage has been updated to include our Final Exam schedule and other end-of-year information for students and families.

As you consider recognizing staff at the end of the school year, I encourage you to submit a FCPS CARES nomination. The FCPS CARES Program allows parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees who go above and beyond to help others and show they care about their students, colleagues, and the community. We invite you to submit a story to acknowledge the great work of a Chantilly employee or group of employees who should receive FCPS CARES recognition.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. I look forward to connecting with you at Chantilly very soon.

Sincerely,

Amy T. Goodloe, Ed.D.

Principal, Chantilly HS

Calendar Survey: Your Feedback Matters!

FCPS values your input as we plan future school calendars. On Friday, June 5, all caregivers and FCPS staff will receive an email from noreply@fcps.edu containing a unique link to complete the FCPS Calendar Survey.

Please take a few minutes to share your priorities and perspectives by Monday, June 22, at 11:59 p.m.

Your individual responses will be kept confidential and will not be shared with school staff or used in any way that identifies you or your student. Only aggregate, summary-level results will be reported to the Fairfax County School Board.

If you do not receive a link to the survey or have technical difficulties completing the survey, please contact the FCPS Office of Research and Program Evaluation.

Chantilly End-of-Year Information

The Chantilly High School webpage has been updated to include our Final Exam schedule and other end-of-year information.

It is important that students attend school on scheduled testing dates. If you are aware of a conflict that may cause your student to miss a test, please notify us as soon as possible.

Finish the School Year With Strong Attendance!

As we enter the final weeks of the school year, Fairfax County Public Schools appreciates your continued partnership in supporting your child’s success. Regular attendance plays an important role in helping students stay engaged in learning, maintain connections with their teachers and peers, and finish the school year strong.

Attending school consistently also helps students build valuable habits such as responsibility, perseverance, and daily routines that support success both in and out of the classroom.

If your child needs to miss school, please remember to report the absence. Full-day absences can be reported in ParentVUE. Families may also report absences by calling the school attendance line or emailing the school-designated attendance address.

If your child is experiencing challenges that are affecting attendance, we are here to help. Please contact your child’s school so staff can partner with you to provide support and resources. Learn more about attendance resources.

New Cellphone Policy Starts July 1

On Thursday, May 7, the Fairfax County School Board approved changes to the FCPS Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R). The approved changes include updated guidance for cellphone possession and use, to align the FCPS cell phone policy with Senate Bill 108. This new Virginia law goes into effect on July 1 and states that all schools in the Commonwealth must follow a “bell-to-bell” phone-free policy.

This means that starting July 1, 2026, across all grade levels at FCPS, student cellphones, phone accessories, and all smart devices (including watches that serve a dual purpose, such as smart watches, as well as earbuds, headsets, smart glasses, and other other items connected to the internet) must be off and personally stored (i.e., put away in backpacks) for the duration of the school day — thus, no cellphones from bell to bell.

High school students will no longer be able to use cellphones and personal devices during lunchtime. More details are available on the FCPS Cell Phone Policy webpage

Students Graduating or Leaving Us - Download your Google Drive

For any Chantilly HS students leaving FCPS, your Google Workspace account will be automatically deactivated the day after your last full day of enrollment. Once your account is deactivated, you will not be able to login to your FCPS Google account or access your FCPS Gmail. It is important that you download any files you wish to keep before your last day of school in FCPS.

The download process of files can take several days, so please make sure to give yourself plenty of time. Students have the option to use Google Takeout to export their files. Visit Google’s directions here: How to download your Google data using Takeout. It’s important to know that you will only be able to export files for which you are the owner. If you’d prefer to manually select files from your Drive to download, follow the Downloading Your Data instructions on the Google Workspace Information for Students and Parents page of the FCPS website.

Summer Meals for Students

Starting Monday, June 22, no-cost meals will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis at the sites and times listed on the FCPS Summer Food Service Program webpage. Students must remain on site while eating their meals.

This year, thanks to generous support from Educate Fairfax, families may also receive one no-cost breakfast and lunch per adult at the following elementary schools: Braddock, Dogwood, Glen Forest, Hutchison, Hybla Valley, and London Towne.

Summer sites will continue to be added, so please check the Summer Food webpage regularly for updates.

Summer Immunization Events for All FCPS Students

Inspire Health Alliance, in partnership with FCPS, will be providing school-required immunizations this summer. Immunizations will be provided at no out-of-pocket cost to students or families. Registering families will be required to provide insurance information, if applicable, but students without insurance may still participate.

Visit the FCPS and Inspire Health Alliance Student Immunization Events webpage for dates, times, and locations. Additional event dates will be made available and shared four to five weeks prior to the event on the webpage. Additional immunization resources are also available.

Checking out early?

The best and most efficient way to check your student out of school early is to send a note with them to take to their Subschool Office in the morning! Or call your child's subschool before 9 a.m. to request early dismissal. You can find the phone numbers at the bottom of this email and on the Chantilly Attendance page.

  • Your student will receive a pass to leave class at the time you specify.
  • You won't need to come inside the school; your student will simply come out to meet you.

Please be aware that if you sign your student out in person, it can take up to 30 minutes for the pass to reach them. Sending a note is always the quickest option!

Important Reminders:

  • Email is not accepted for reporting absences or early checkouts.
  • If a student becomes sick during the school day, they must be checked out through the clinic, not the Subschool Office, or by text with the student..
