 Final PTA Meeting & Board Elections
Monday, June 8 | 6:15 PM – 6:45 PM | School Library
Please join us for our final PTA meeting of the school year! This is a brief but incredibly important 30-minute session where we will be voting on our PTA Board members for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year.
🎵 Dropping your student off early for the band concert? Don't just wait in the car—come on into the library, join the meeting, and cast your vote! Your voice matters in shaping the next school year. We hope to see you there!
 Important: End-of-Year Medication Pickup
All student medications stored in the health room must be picked up by a parent or guardian no later than dismissal time on the last day of school.
Key Policies to Know:

Disposal: Any medication left behind after the final dismissal will be destroyed.

Pickup Rules: Medications cannot be sent home with students. They must be picked up by an adult. (Exception: High school students may transport over-the-counter medications with written parent/guardian permission).

Summer School Programs: If your student is attending an FCPS summer program, you must still pick up their medication on the last day of school. You will then need to deliver the medication and forms to the summer site on day one.
Need a copy of your current medication authorization form for summer school? Please contact the health room ahead of time and we will gladly provide one!
Grades 3-5 Recorder Reminder!
Parents, your student is bringing their recorder home for the summer! Please help them keep it safe and clean for the Fall by following these quick steps:

Wash & Rinse: Use a small amount of liquid dish soap, rinse thoroughly, and let it air dry.

Store Safely: Find a responsible spot at home so it stays protected and won't get lost before school starts up again.

 Last Call
Is your child missing a jacket, sweater, lunchbox, or water bottle? Our Lost & Found racks near the front doors are currently overflowing with MANY unclaimed items!
Please take a moment to stop by and check the racks before or after school.
⚠️ Important Note: Any items remaining after the last day of school will be donated or discarded. Help us find these belongings a way back home!
 Last Day of School & Early Dismissal
Wednesday, June 17
The final day of the school year is just around the corner! Please note that all Willow Springs students will be dismissed early at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, June 17.
Be sure to arrange for afternoon pickup or childcare ahead of time. Thank you all for an amazing school year, and have a safe and wonderful summer break!

Lunch Balance
It’s a busy time of year, and we know many priorities are on your plate. As we approach the end of the school year, it is important to check your student’s MySchoolBucks account and pay any remaining school meal balance.
Free and Reduced-Price Meals
Families who earn less than 185% of the poverty level qualify for free and reduced-price meals (FRM). However, an application must be completed and submitted each school year to receive that benefit. The application for the 2026-27 school year will be available this summer.
If you have a current balance and think you may be eligible for free and reduced-price meals, please fill out the FRM application for the 2025-26 school year.
 6th Grade WFCM Service Project
May 18 - June 12
Our 6th graders are learning that good citizens help their community! We are collecting donations for Western Fairfax Christian Ministries to help local families in need.

Where: Drop-off boxes in the school lobby.

When: Every morning, May 18 through June 12.

The 2026 Challenge: Last year we collected a record 1,500 lbs of food- let’s see if we can do it again!
Requested Items:
Food: Canned meat, fruit cups, pancake mix, cereal, oatmeal, juice, coffee, oil, flour, sugar. Toiletries: Toothpaste, shampoo, soap.
WFCM's programs are designed to serve as a critical safety net to keep individuals and families in financial crisis housed and fed while providing resources, support, compassion services, and connections to help them work toward financial stability and food security.

To support the cause, sixth-grade teacher Mrs. Panczyszyn came up with a wonderful idea that quickly inspired her colleagues. A few of our fantastic teachers took her lead and teamed up to create these incredibly creative and thoughtful Birthday Kits to donate. Each kit is packed in a reusable baking pan and contains everything a family needs to celebrate a special day:
Inside is cake mix, can of soda, frosting, candles, balloons, and a birthday banner!
