June 5, 2026
Greetings Fairfax Families,
What an incredible week it has been at Fairfax High School! As we approach the finish line of another fantastic school year, I want to take a moment to celebrate the immense dedication, growth, and success that define our school community. It was beautiful to watch the sun set with our Seniors as their high school career ends.
Celebrating the Class of 2026
First and foremost, a massive congratulations to our Class of 2026 on your graduation! It has been an absolute joy to watch you grow, learn, and lead over the past four years. You have left an indelible mark on our halls, and I cannot wait to see all the PAWSome things you will accomplish in your next chapters.
To our families: THANK YOU. Your unwavering collaboration, trust, and support of our school community make all the difference.
Academic Spotlight: SOL & WIDA Success
Our students and educators have been working tirelessly, and the results are officially in. I am thrilled to share some phenomenal highlights from our recent Standards of Learning (SOL) assessments and language proficiency testing:

A Shared Honor
On a personal note, I was deeply honored to receive an award from The Washington Post this week. While my name may be on the certificate, this recognition truly belongs to our entire community. It is only because of our amazing teachers, exceptional students, and supportive families that we can achieve all that we have over the past few years. Success like this doesn't happen in isolation—it is a team effort.
I am incredibly proud to serve with YOU.
Warmest regards,
Congrats, Grads!! What a PAWsome Day!!

Calendar Survey 🗓️
FCPS values your input as we plan future school calendars. On Friday, June 5, all caregivers and FCPS staff will receive an email from noreply@fcps.edu containing a unique link to complete the FCPS Calendar Survey.
Your feedback matters. Please take a few minutes to share your priorities and perspectives by Monday, June 22, at 11:59 p.m.
Your individual responses will be kept confidential and will not be shared with school staff or used in any way that identifies you or your student. Only aggregate, summary-level results will be reported to the Fairfax County School Board.
If you do not receive a link to the survey or have technical difficulties completing the survey, please contact the FCPS Office of Research and Program Evaluation.
Summer Meals for Students
Starting Monday, June 22, no-cost meals will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis at the sites and times listed on the FCPS Summer Food Service Program webpage. Students must remain on-site while eating their meals.
This year, thanks to generous support from Educate Fairfax, families may also receive one no-cost breakfast and lunch per adult at the following elementary schools: Braddock, Dogwood, Glen Forest, Hutchison, Hybla Valley, and London Towne.
Summer sites will continue to be added, so check the Summer Food webpage regularly for updates.
Introducing Virginia SUN Bucks
Virginia SUN Bucks is a federal program created to fight food insecurity by providing eligible children with a one-time $120 food benefit on a Virginia SUN Bucks card or SNAP EBT card to purchase groceries.
See the flyer or see their website for more details.
Summer Immunization Events for All Students
Inspire Health Alliance, in partnership with FCPS, will be providing school-required immunizations this summer. Immunizations will be provided at no out-of-pocket cost to students or families. Registering families will be required to provide insurance information, if applicable, but students without insurance may still participate.
Visit the FCPS and Inspire Health Alliance Student Immunization Events webpage for dates, times, and locations. Additional event dates will be made available and shared four to five weeks prior to the event on the webpage. Additional immunization resources are also available.
End of Year Medication Pickup
Reminder: Pick up Medications by the Last Day of School!
The Fairfax High School health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time on the last day of school - Thursday, June 17th at 10:10am. Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed.
It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. However, with parent or guardian permission, a high school student may transport over-the-counter medications to and from the school health room.
If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by Fairfax County Public Schools, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program. Please let the health room know if you would like a copy of the form(s).
Questions? Call the Health Room at 703-219-2210 or email our Public Health Nurse, Ashley Kim, at amkim1@fcps.edu.
Thank you for your cooperation and support!
