It is a short week, but a good week at FHES!
Thank you to all of the visitors and volunteers who made the art show a huge success! More art will be on display soon at FHES as the 2nd grade students have started their outdoor mural project with Ms. McAllister. The new mural will soon be ready for viewing along the base of the trailers near door 6. The mural will bring beauty and creativity to be on display for all to enjoy!
It is time to round up all of your FHES library books! All books are due to the FHES library by Tuesday, June 2nd. Please send in all library books for end-of-year collection.

Common Sense, the national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping kids and families thrive in a world of media and technology, has recognized Flint Hill Elementary as a Common Sense School
Flint Hill has demonstrated its commitment to taking a whole-community approach to preparing its students to think critically and use technology responsibly to learn, create, and participate while preparing them for the perils that exist in the online realm, such as plagiarism, loss of privacy, and cyberbullying. With the right support, kids can take ownership of their digital lives, engage with real issues, and change their communities for the better. The recognition acknowledges our school's commitment to creating a culture of digital citizenship.
We're honored to be recognized as a Common Sense School. By preparing our students to use technology safely and responsibly, we are providing them an opportunity to build lifelong habits to help them succeed in a tech-driven world.

We would like rising 5th and 6th grase students to invite you to join the Flint Hill Chorus. Our Chorus will meet during the school day every week. There is no cost to join. During our rehearsal time each week we will work on developing our listening and singing skills, singing a variety of music, and promoting teamwork through the choral arts. Students may be in chorus and band or strings.
While students do not audition to be in chorus, we will expect all members to attend rehearsals regularly and participate respectfully. Being a member of the Flint Hill Chorus will be a year-long commitment. Chorus will begin in the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year.
We will have opportunities to perform! Stay tuned for more information. For sixth graders, being a member of the Flint Hill Chorus is a prerequisite for auditioning for the FCPS 6th Grade All-County Chorus. To join Chorus please fill out the form online.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to a music teacher if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing you at our first rehearsal where we will celebrate the joy of singing together. Stay tuned for rehearsal dates and times.
