Every Day Counts at Island Creek!
Help us reach our goal of 4% or less this year!
Attendance is a vital life skill that will benefit your child later in life. It’s a good habit to build now to help them graduate from college on time and routinely report to work on time once they have a career.
By highlighting this important information, we aim to keep our families informed and energized about our collective efforts to encourage regular school attendance

Spotlight on Specials: Music
During the month of April, the Island Creek musicians took a break from literacy, singing, and playing classroom instruments to dive deeply into a piece of classical music. Throughout these units, students listened critically and described what they heard and experienced through drawing, movement, classroom discussion, composition, and even simple homemade instruments! Many students have shared that they have taken these pieces home and listened to them with their families!
We encourage you to check out our amazing classical playlist.

Does Your Child Know Your Phone Number?
Children should memorize at least one parent’s phone number, full name, and home address. This crucial safety skill helps kids contact parents or authorities if they are lost, separated, or in an emergency. Teaching this information prepares them for unexpected situations and fosters independence.
We are seeing a surprising number of older students who do not know at least one parent/guardian telephone number. Even with cell phones readily available, it is very important for children to memorize at least one parent/guardian's telephone number in case of an emergency.
