April 9th, 2026
Good Afternoon Flint Hill Families,
It was a wonderful first week of the 4th quarter at FHES!
This week included a 4th grade field trip to the Heritage Farm Museum, Young Scholars went to the National Building Museum with Mrs. Altounian and classes spent time outside observing signs of spring all around FHES. Reports of tulip blossoms were shared with the Journey North Project to document the changing seasons.

If you or a neighbor has new students who will attend FHES next year, please begin the registration process soon so that we can be prepared for instructional staffing.
Don't forget, the FHES v. VES staff basketball game is scheduled for April 22nd! Save the date for a fun evening of school spirit!
Kindly,
Mr. Montaquila, Principal
Mr. Baker, Assistant Principal

Elementary Early Release Wednesday Update for April
Tuesday, April 21, is now a teacher workday and staff development day because of a recently announced special election that will impact all FCPS schools.
Students will now have a traditional full day of instruction and be released at the regular dismissal time on April 22 and April 29, which were previously early release Wednesdays for elementary schools.
This adjustment allows our staff to still have dedicated time for planning, collaboration, and professional learning without reducing instructional time on other school days.Read Dr. Reid’s letter to elementary parents for more details.

About 70% of the FCPS budget comes from the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. There are several upcoming opportunities to provide feedback to the county on its budget before final adoption in May. This includes public budget hearings (April 14-16) and an online survey. Learn how the FCPS budget helps us sustain our excellence.
