Adjustments to the End of the Quarter

Due to the recent loss of instructional days, the final day of the second quarter has been moved to Tuesday, February 3.

Teachers may continue second-quarter assessments through February 3 and will share any specific changes with students and families through Schoology. Students in semester courses will continue attending first-semester classes through February 3. See Dr. Reid’s letter to the community about the end-of-quarter adjustmentsSee the complete school year calendar.

Farewell to Ms. Robinson

We are grateful for Ms. Robinson's service as our ML/ESOL resource teacher. During her brief time at Edison, Ms. Robinson created a comprehensive data wall highlighting our ML students’ background information and key data, supported teachers by sharing resources, and introduced new technology tools that strengthened our instructional practices. Congratulations Ms. Robinson on your promotion and we wish you continued success as she takes the next step in her professional journey.

Welcome to the Academy Mrs. Statham

Edison Academy is proud to highlight Mrs. Statham, whose role is pivotal in ensuring our Multi-Language Learners (MLL) achieve academic foundations and excellence. As a bilingual communicator, Mrs. Statham provides a vital link between the school and our diverse families. Beyond her linguistic expertise, Mrs. Statham brings a background in trauma-informed care and evidence-based interventions. This allows her to provide holistic support to students who are navigating new cultural and academic landscapes. By combining her M.Ed. in Teaching & Learning with her status as a Certified Workforce Development Professional, she ensures our MLL students are not only supported in the classroom but are strategically prepared to be ready for post-secondary life.

National School Counseling Week

February 2-6 is National School Counseling Week, and highlights the tremendous impact school counselors have in helping students achieve academic success and planning for a career. Career and Technical Education Month

By enrolling in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) course or program, students learn the technical applications of many occupations while preparing for higher education or entry-level employment. A core program of CTE courses is offered in every middle and high school including Business and Information Technology, Family and Consumer Sciences, Health and Medical Sciences, Marketing, Technology and Engineering Education, and Trade and Industrial Education. Since this is an elective, course offerings may vary by school. Learn more on the FCPS CTE webpage

CTE also offers summer programs for students to explore their programs. Enroll now!
