Chantilly A/B Day Calendar
Dear Chantilly Community,
It is the MOST wonderful time of the year to be a Chantilly Charger! This week our Performing Arts department shared the long-standing, merry Chantilly tradition of our Tiny Tots and Holiday Spectacular performances with the community. There are still tickets available for tonight's performance. The JOY was evident on the faces of our audience members. Check out the highlights: Tiny Tots.
As we approach the last week of school ahead of winter break, we encourage all students to engage in our spirit week next week (themes above) and be fully present in class. We have lots of learning and fun in store next week and want to see all of our Chargers here at school. Attendance matters!
Chantilly Virginia SPSF Recognition
I’m excited to share that Chantilly HS has been recognized as Distinguished under Virginia’s new School Performance and Support Framework (SPSF). This rating, based on data from last school year, shows that our school is meeting or exceeding expectations set by the state around student performance.
This new framework places a greater emphasis on standardized test results, alongside student growth, graduation, and readiness measures that vary by school level.
One thing has not changed: our students are learning and growing, and our teachers and staff continue to do exceptional work every day. This recognition reflects the strength of our entire school community. Our strong performance stands out and is something to celebrate.
We will continue building on this success. Our team is committed to keeping high expectations for learning, supporting each student’s unique strengths, and creating a school environment where every child feels welcomed, challenged, and cared for. We are also grateful for the support we receive from families. Your involvement makes a difference, and it plays an important role in helping our students succeed.
Thank you for being such an important part of our community. Together, we will continue helping every student at Chantilly thrive.
Share the Love with our Chantilly Staff - PTSA WishList:
Help the PTSA keep our teachers and staff fueled and appreciated all year long. Please use this wish list link if you would like to buy snacks or a gift card or drop off items in the front office.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. I look forward to connecting with you at Chantilly very soon.
Sincerely,
Amy T. Goodloe, Ed.D.

Graduation Status: New Feature in ParentVUE and StudentVUE
A new Graduation Status tool is available in ParentVUE and StudentVUE. The tool helps parents and students monitor and track progress in meeting graduation requirements.
Graduation Status includes progress toward the Standard or Advanced Studies diploma for high school students and middle school students who have enrolled in one or more high school courses. This new feature is available in addition to the course history and unofficial transcript options in ParentVUE and StudentVUE.
Take the following steps to view the Graduation Status section:
- Log in to your SIS ParentVUE/StudentVUE account.
- Go to Course History.
- Go to Graduation Status and toggle “on.”
For questions about graduation requirements, please contact your child’s school counselor.

Checking out early?
The best and most efficient way to check your student out of school early is to send a note with them to take to their Subschool Office in the morning! Or call your child's subschool before 9 a.m. to request early dismissal. You can find the phone numbers at the bottom of this email and on the Chantilly Attendance page.
- Your student will receive a pass to leave class at the time you specify.
- You won't need to come inside the school; your student will simply come out to meet you.
Please be aware that if you sign your student out in person, it can take up to 30 minutes for the pass to reach them, making sending a note the quickest option!
Important Reminders:
-
Email is not accepted for reporting absences or early checkouts.
- If a student becomes sick during the school day, they must be checked out through the clinic, not the Subschool Office.
School Photos are now online!
Families should have received an E-proof via email.
Please remember to check your junk folder!.
For any questions about your student's school pictures please contact: underclass@vosphoto.com
The team at Victor O’Neill Studios would like to thank Chantilly High School for a great picture day!
Social and Emotional Learning Screener: Parent Reports
Students in grades 3 to 12 took the SEL Screener last month, providing information on skills like achieving goals, understanding and managing emotions, establishing and maintaining relationships, and making responsible decisions. The screener also asks students how well their school community makes them feel valued, included, and supported.
Individual student SEL Screener results will be available to families in the Documents section of SIS ParentVUE the week of November 17. For families who do not have an active ParentVUE account, results will be shared by our school.
For support in understanding your individual student’s results or for ideas on how to support them at home, please review the Family Guide or reach out to school staff.
Volunteer FCPS Helps Community Members Connect With Schools
The new volunteer management system, Volunteer FCPS, allows individuals to search and register for volunteer opportunities at our school or across the school district.
Volunteer FCPS is how FCPS provides a safe, consistent, and welcoming environment at all of our schools. Anyone interested in volunteering with FCPS must:
- Create a profile in Volunteer FCPS.
- Register for opportunities through Volunteer FCPS.
- Sign in and out of schools using the visitor kiosk on EVERY visit – no exceptions.
Recent Updates to Volunteer Opportunity Levels
Due to the overwhelming response, FCPS is temporarily pausing fingerprint requirements for most Level 3 volunteers. Those who have already been fingerprinted will be processed to be eligible for all Level 3 opportunities.
Field trip chaperone opportunities will now be classified as Level 2 (not requiring a comprehensive background check that includes fingerprinting).
To ensure continuous safety, all new volunteers are required to sign a Volunteer Certification Statement. This statement is a legal confirmation that you have no history of violent felonies, physical or sexual crimes against children, or crimes of moral turpitude (dishonesty, fraud, things that are immoral by society’s standards).
Visit the Volunteer FCPS website to complete a volunteer orientation. View Frequently Asked Questions to learn more about the volunteer levels.
