Schedule Change Policy

\n order to support students in settling into a consistent class schedule, please see the timeline for schedule changes for the 2025-2026 school year.

  • September 22, 2025 - February 6, 2026:
    • No Elective Change Requests
    • All Academic Level Change Requests (Example: English 9 Honors to English 9) must complete the Academic Improvement Plan that involves a parent/teacher/student conference. The Academic Improvement Plan form is located in Student Services
    • After the Academic Improvement Plan is completed and the student still wishes to move forward with the academic level change, the schedule request will be reviewed by a committee. Approval is not guaranteed and is based on seat availability in the requested course
  • November 18, 2025: Last day to drop a course without it going on the student’s transcript as a Withdrawal Pass (WP) or a Withdrawal Fail (WF). Please see FCPS Regulation 2445.7 – Policy for Dropping A Class
  • February 9, 2026: No schedule changes will be permitted after this time (this includes Off Campus Waivers).

Q1 Report Card - Need A Paper Copy?

The Quarter One Report Card has been uploaded and accessible in ParentVUE/StudentVUE. To access the report card:

  1. Log into ParentVUE or log into StudentVUE
  2. In the menu on the left hand side, select "Documents"
  3. Once in "Documents", you will see "Justice HS_Q1 Report Card_SY25-26"
  4. Click on the file and it will open to review

Do you need a paper copy?

To request a paper copy to be mailed home, please submit this Quarter One Report Card Paper Copy Request Google Form. You can submit a request for up to three children who attend Justice High School. If you have four or more children who attend Justice High School, you will need to submit the request twice.

  1. Go to the ParentVUE Login screen and select the icon that you need
    • Change Username - You forgot your username or you want to change it
    • Change Password - You know your password but you want to change it
    • Forgot Password - You can't remember your password
    • Activate Account - You have received an Activation Key and you're ready to create your account

None of the above apply!

  1. Go to the Parent Support Request ticket
  2. Select SIS Parent in the Application dropdown menu
  3. Under "Issue Description", type the issue/error that you're receiving. Please try to be specific.
  4. Still need support?
    • Call the Parent Technology Help Desk at 833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS).

Weekly Progress Reports

FCPS sends automatic weekly progress reports for each class for Middle and High School students but only if you have opted-in to receive them in ParentVUE.

Here are directions on how OPT-IN to Weekly Progress Report.

  1. Parent/Guardian must have a ParentVUE account
  2. Log into your ParentVUE and click on "My Account"
  3. Confirm that you have an email address listed under "Primary Email Address"
  4. Continue scrolling on that page to find "Notify me with my child's gradebook scores"
  5. YOU MUST CHECK THE BOX NEXT TO "Grade Book"
  6. Choose which day you want to receive all the progress reports

Graduation Status in ParentVUE/StudentVUE

A new Graduation Status section is now available in ParentVUE and StudentVUE. The Graduation Status is a tool that helps parents and students monitor and track their progress in meeting graduation requirements. This feature includes progress towards the Standard or Advanced Studies diploma for high school students and middle school students who have enrolled in one or more high school courses. This new graduation status section is available in addition to the course history and unofficial transcript options in ParentVUE and StudentVUE. To view the graduation status section, please take the following steps:

  1. Login to your SIS ParentVUE Account
  2. Go to “Course History” for your middle or high school student
  3. Go to “Graduation Status” and toggle “on” 

Locker Requests For SY25-26

If you would like a Locker for School Year 2025-2026, please submit your Locker Request.

All students get a locker upstairs with the exception of Athletes. We are allowing Fall Athletes to get a locker in the D Hall. Student participation in the sport must be verified by Athletics Office. If students say that they're participating in a sport but actually are not, then they will receive an upstairs locker.

Once students receive their locker, this is their locker for the rest of the school year.

Please allow 5 school days to process your request. When approved, the  locker number and combination will be emailed to directly to the student's FCPS Google Email. Students and Parents can also check ParentVUE/StudentVUE --> Info

All lockers are assigned based on time of request.

Class of 2026: Official Transcript Request Form

All seniors must have the Consent to Share Transcript to Colleges on file in order for the school to send the official transcript to 2-year/4-year colleges, military academies, military branches, scholarship organizations, and others. If this consent is not on file, we will not be able to release the official transcript to these organizations.

Part One: Please return completed forms to Ms. Bond in Student Services. If you've already signed the form, no need to sign again. 

Part Two: Students must submit an Official Transcript Request for EACH college/university and indicate whether we need to upload the transcript to a college portal, Common Application, Coalition Application, or email/mail directly to the College Admissions Office.


Class of 2026: Financial Aid Workshop

Need help completing the FAFSA? Come join us on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 9am-12:30pm at Justice High School Library (2nd Floor).

We will have support from College Access Fairfax Financial Aid Champions who can provide individual support to families in order to complete the FAFSA. Both student and parent/legal guardian must attend together.

Please bring:

  • Social Security Number (student and parent/legal guardian)
  • Alien Registration Number (for non-US Citizens)
  • Federal Income Tax Returns
  • W-2 Forms
  • Records of other untaxed income received (if applicable)
  • Records of child support receive (if applicable)
  • Current bank statements and account balances (checking, savings)
  • Records of other stocks, bonds, and other investments (if applicable)

2026 Gap Year Fair

FCPS’ School Counseling Services and Go Overseas are co-hosting the annual FCPS Gap Year Fair on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at George C. Marshall High School from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.

This event is for high school students and parents who are interested in learning more about the growing array of gap year opportunities.

  • 6:00pm - Presentation - Auditorium
  • 6:45pm - Gap Program Fair - Cafeteria
    • Representatives from over 30 programs offering gap year opportunities will be available
    • Students and their families are encouraged to meet the representatives and learn about the variety of experiences available. 

Students are encouraged to pre-register for this event.

FAFSA IS OPEN

Federal Student Aid has made the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available ahead of the scheduled release date. Any college-bound high school senior — regardless of income — who wants to be considered for federal, state, and school financial aid programs should complete a FAFSA form. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to work with their students to complete the FAFSA as early as possible. Families should check each college’s financial aid office website for deadlines and financial aid forms. They will need to create an account to fill out the FAFSA.


VASA IS OPEN

The Virginia Alternative State Aid (VASA) application for 2026-27 is OPEN!

The VASA is an option for students who have certain nonimmigrant visas, are undocumented, have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status or are otherwise ineligible to file a FAFSA.

NOTE: The VASA application only provides access to Virginia State Financial Aid and possibly Virginia college/university aid. The VASA is not for out-of-state/out-of-country colleges/universities.

George Mason University: Direct Admissions Email

From GMU Admissions Office:

For those students who applied to George Mason University Direct Admissions Application or Early Action for Common Application, they may have recently received an email stating that they were missing items. This email was sent in error from GMU and does not accurately reflect the student’s application.

GMU is still processing documents and matching them to student applications and are hoping to have a much clearer status update by end of the week.

Please ignore any email you may have received from GMU indicating that you are missing documents. If you are truly missing documents, you will receive a clarifying email by end of November.

Parent University - Quarter 2: Academic Advising

Join us for Quarter 2 Parent University on Wednesday, December 10th, from 6–8 PM in the Justice Cafeteria as we dive into the exciting season of Academic Advising!

Students are exploring their class options for the next school year, and we want to empower parents and guardians with the knowledge to support them—graduation requirements, course pathways, and strategies to spark your child’s engagement in learning.

FCPS Food and Nutrition: Job Shadow Program

FCPS Food and Nutrition Services is offering a Job Shadow Program to interested students as part of the FCPS Grow Your Own Talent Pipeline. This exciting program gives interested students a chance to explore careers in school nutrition while gaining insight into the essential role these services play in supporting student success.

Participants will enjoy a full-day, behind-the-scenes experience with the Food and Nutrition Services team, learning how meals are planned, prepared, and served across the division.

Students must be currently enrolled in Culinary Arts Level 1 or Level 2, Nutrition & Wellness, or Hospitality Courses (Food & Hospitality Management, Hospitality Level 1 or Level 2, Intro to Culinary, or Culinary Operations/Pastry Arts).

Students who participate in the Job Shadow program will get to experience Recipe Tasting, Menu Planning, and Kitchen tours.

James Lee Community Center

The James Lee Community Center provides programs and activities for individuals of all ages and abilities. The facility includes a full-service Community Center, Senior Center, Teen Center, Technology Program and is also home to the James Lee Community Theatre. They host community events and activities that give the community an opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends, promote healthy lifestyles and just simply have fun!

Parental Digital Consent (PDC)

Paperless Opt-Outs Available! Families can log in to the PDC using their ParentVUE credentials to complete consent forms assigned to their child. There are required forms that require all parents to complete as well as optional forms pending grade level.

Student Bus Passes Offer Free Transportation All Year

All Fairfax County middle and high school students can get a Student Bus Pass SmarTrip card to ride the Fairfax Connector and Fairfax CUE buses for free! With the pass, fares are free from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, all year. Learn more about the Student Pass. Complete the application and return it to Ms. Bond in Student Services (or pick up a paper application)

Our students can ride Metrobus for free, in addition to the Fairfax Connector and City of Fairfax CUE. Visit the Fairfax County website for details and approved Metrobus routes. Complete the application and return it to our front office. 

If students ride on an unauthorized route, MetroBus will deactivate the card immediately. Students can receive up to two replacement cards.


Food for Neighbors - Red Bag Program

Justice High School is a proud partner with Food for Neighbors, a local organization who helps to feed our students outside of school hours.

The Red Bag Program is filled five times a year and provided to needy families. Food for Neighbors will drop off an empty Red Bag with a list of items. You can support by purchasing some food items that is provided on the list. Leave the Red Bag outside your door and Food for Neighbors will come pick it up.

Fairfax County SNAP Update

Updated November 24, 2025

Due to temporary technical issues, Virginia SNAP EBT recipients may have problems accessing the EBT Portal and experience transaction denials. It is recommended that the customer try to process the transaction again if they experience an incorrect denial. Currently, there is not an estimated time of resolution. 

If there are questions, participants can call the number on the back of their card or VDSS Constituent Services at 804-726-7000.

Check your EBT card balance before you shop: 

  • Download the ConnectEBT app for free from Apple or Google app stores and check your balance. 
  • Visit ConnectEBT and select Virginia EBT from the dropdown box. 
  • Swipe your card at the Point-of-Sale device in store, enter your PIN, and do a balance inquiry. 
  • Call 1-866-281-2448, enter the 16 digit number on your card, and hear the balance inquiry.

Tips for SNAP Participants:

  • Unused SNAP and VENA benefits may be used.
  • Unused benefits from October or prior months that remain on EBT cards may be used.
  • Protect your benefits from fraud by locking your card after each purchase with the ConnectEBT app. Download the app for free from Apple and Google app stores.   
  • Do not give your EBT card, card number, password, or PIN to anyone not authorized to use your card. 
  • If there are questions, participants can call the number on the back of their card or VDSS Constituent Services at 804-726-7000.

Fairfax County is responsible for determining eligibility for SNAP benefits but Virginia Department of Social Services is responsible for loading EBT cards. VDSS will continue to provide updates for SNAP recipients as information becomes available.

Camp Fairfax Winter Program

Camp Fairfax provides fun, safe and educational care for children in kindergarten to sixth grade during Fairfax County Public Schools winter, spring and summer breaks.

The Camp Fairfax Winter Program will be held throughout the county at consolidated school based sites and at community centers during the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Winter Break

Employment is not required for program eligibility.

NOTE: Enrollment for the Dec. 2025/Jan. 2026 Camp Fairfax Winter Program begins on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

  • Session 1: December 22-26, 2025 (3-day program - Closed Dec 24/Dec 25)
  • Session 2: December 29, 2025 - January 2, 2026 (4-day program - Closed Jan 1)
    • Children can enroll in both sessions

Fairfax Kinship Support Groups

Formed Families Forward is offering the free Fairfax Kinship Support Groups in partnership with the Department of Family Services. 

Are you raising a child for a family member or friend? Join other kinship caregivers to discuss your experiences, concerns, and frustrations with your peers. This group offers a network to share resources and information among the group members, reducing feelings of isolation, and celebrating family successes in maintaining permanency for and the ongoing commitment to building strong families.

In-person groups will be held at Fairfax County Community Centers with the support of Neighborhood and Community Services on the third Thursday of each month. Virtual Groups will be offered on the first Thursday of each month via Zoom. Register online.


Parent Support Line

Fairfax County Department of Family Services offers The Parent Support Line for parents and caregivers of children ages 0-18 years old. Staff can help with parenting advice, support, and tips to help navigate emotional and relational parenting issues. Language support is available.

Grief Support Groups: Free

Capital Caring Health provides grief support groups and workshops at no cost. You will need to complete a "registration" with a Grief Intake Counselor in order to participate. Sessions may be canceled if registration is low. If registering children, please speak to the Grief Intake Counselor as to which support group would be most appropriate for their age level.

Inova Peterson Life with Cancer: Free Supports

Inova Peterson Life with Cancer provides free in-person, virtual, and hybrid classes and support groups each month to support families living with cancer, survived cancer, or managing the loss of loved one to cancer. They offer over hundreds of classes ranging from simple nutrition, fitness/exercise, stress reduction, children/teens/parents, educational, support groups, etc.

No-Cost Virtual Therapy for High School Students

Virtual therapy sessions are available to FCPS high school students at no cost to provide a safe space to address concerns such as: 

  • Mood/behavior changes, motivation, grief/loss
  • Anxiety, worry, fears
  • Social skills, bullying, peer and family relationships
  • Academic stress

You may refer your child by calling 571-749-2940 or by contacting our school counselor, social worker, psychologist, or director of Student Services. Visit the FCPS Teletherapy webpage for more information.


Supporting Your Child's Mental Health

Children go through a lot of changes, and it can be hard to tell if their behavior is developmentally appropriate or if they could benefit from mental health support. It’s important to talk to your child and pay attention to their actions, especially these warning signs:

  • Increased irritability, hyperactivity, energy, and/or aggressive behavior.
  • Excessive sadness, hopelessness, or worries.
  • Loss of appetite, or significant weight gain or loss.
  • Lack of sleep or too much sleep.
  • A decline in grades, school avoidance, or attendance concerns.
  • Alcohol or drug use.
  • Withdrawal from activities and/or friends and family. 
  • Thoughts of harming themselves or others.

If you notice any of these warning signs or feel your child may be experiencing a mental health challenge, help is available. Please contact your child's school counselor to discuss your concerns and identify resources. Find additional ways to support your child’s wellness
