Dear Chantilly Community,
We have started the second quarter strong! Our Chargers brought their positive energy and enthusiasm for engagement and learning to Chantilly this week and we look forward to following their successes throughout the quarter. We are looking forward to celebrating our Class of 2026 Seniors this evening at our final fall football game. Athletes including cheer, dance, football and special olympics unified teams, in addition to our athletic trainers and Mighty Marching Chargers, will all be honored at 6:30 PM ahead of kick-off at 7 PM. We will also welcome choral students from our elementary feeder schools to sing the National Anthem this evening. We hope you will join us! Go Chargers!
Principal's Coffee and Veteran's Day Recognition - 11/10

November is National Family Engagement Month! This month reminds us that families are children's first and most important teachers, advocates, and nurturers- and this influence and impact remains just as important during high school. Over 35 years of research shows that the most effective way to increase student achievement is for families to be actively involved in their children's education.
November is also a time when many of us gather with our families to celebrate holidays and spend time together. Please join us in connecting with your child and extended family and friends by completing our CHS Family Bingo challenge. Each week, select at least one of the activities in our Family Bingo challenge. Checking out early?
The best and most efficient way to check your student out of school early is to send a note with them to take to their Subschool Office in the morning! Or call your child's subschool before 9 AM to request early dismissal. You can find the phone numbers at the bottom of this email and on the Chantilly Attendance page.
- Your student will receive a pass to leave class at the time you specify.
- You won't need to come inside the school; your student will simply come out to meet you.
Please be aware that if you sign your student out in person, it can take up to 30 minutes for the pass to reach them, making sending a note the quickest option!
Important Reminders:

Email is not accepted for reporting absences or early checkouts.
- If a student becomes sick during the school day, they must be checked out through the clinic, not the attendance office.
Return Your Federal Impact Aid Survey
FCPS is asking all families to fill out a Federal Impact Aid Survey. The form is available in SIS ParentVUE under Online Packets, which is in the upper right corner of the screen after logging in. Please complete it as soon as possible. We will provide paper forms to families who have not completed the survey in ParentVUE starting Wednesday, November 12.
Completing this form for each school-aged child in every household is important. This year, FCPS expects to receive approximately $4 million in Impact Aid funding. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.

Grading and Report Card Updates
Congratulations to all of our Chargers on a very successful first quarter. SIS ParentVUE Gradebook/Report Card Module will be inaccessible from October 31, 2025 4 PM-November 10, 2025 6 AM. For those parents/guardians who have not yet opted into the paperless option, report cards will be mailed home during the week of November 17, 2025. You may still opt into the paperless option. By choosing to go paperless, you'll be able to:

Reduce wait time in seeing your child’s report card.
Here's how you can opt-in:
- Log into ParentVUE, click on "My Account," and select “Go Paperless.”
- All parents/guardians living with the student at the same address must have an active SIS ParentVUE account to opt-in.
- Once selected, the “Go Paperless” option will apply to all associated students, no matter their grade level.
- If you’ve already opted for paperless for your secondary students, it will automatically apply to any younger siblings at the elementary level too!
Register for ParentVUE
Learn how to activate your SISParentVUE account, so you can easily submit your survey and have access to other helpful information about your child.
Technical support for using ParentVUE or submitting the survey online is available by submitting a Parent Support Request ticket. Select SISParent in the Application dropdown menu and type “Federal Impact Aid Survey” in the Issue Description section. You may also call the Parent Technology Help Desk at 833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS).

The FCPS Family Academy supports the continued success and well-being of each and every student within the FCPS community. The Academy offers a variety of positive and engaging learning opportunities and meaningful connections to transform the FCPS experience into a welcoming environment for all families.
FCPS Family Café Series: Support Your Child’s Growth and Learning
The FCPS Family Academy announces the launch of a monthly series called the FCPS Family Café. These fun and helpful sessions are designed to keep families informed and involved in their child’s education. At Family Café, parents are key partners in helping children succeed. All volunteers (new or returning) will register in Volunteer FCPS, complete a volunteer orientation, and be required to sign in using the visitor kiosk. Some volunteers will also be required to undergo a background check. Visit the Volunteer FCPS website for details.
Volunteer Registration Updates
Due to the overwhelming response from our community, FCPS is temporarily pausing fingerprint requirements for most Level 3 volunteers.
If you are scheduled for an upcoming fingerprinting appointment, please cancel your appointment unless you are a mentor, host parent, or non-parent volunteer having frequent, direct, and unsupervised contact with students, which will still require fingerprinting. FCPS will be charged if individuals miss a fingerprinting appointment without canceling in advance.
Those who have already been fingerprinted will be processed to be eligible for all Level 3 opportunities.
Field trip chaperone opportunities will now be classified as Level 2 (not requiring a background check).
To ensure continuous safety, all new volunteers are required to sign a Volunteer Certification Statement. This statement is a legal attestation confirming you have no history of violent felonies, physical/sexual crimes against children, or crimes of moral turpitude.

2026 Virginia Summer Residential Governor’s School
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) offers the opportunity for 10th and 11th grade students to apply to attend summer residential Governor’s schools in Academics and Visual and Performing Arts (VPA). Students who are accepted into one of the programs will live in residence halls in one of the state colleges in VA for four weeks in the June - late July timeframe. To learn more about SRGS opportunities and the application process, visit the VDOE website. Students can find more information in the grade level schoology page.
Immunization Events for All FCPS Students
Inspire Health Alliance, in partnership with FCPS, will be providing school-required immunizations and optional flu shots for all FCPS students.
- Immunizations will be provided at no out-of-pocket cost to students or families.
- Registering families will be required to provide insurance information, if applicable, but students without insurance may still participate.
