Dear Clermont Families,
As we kicked off PTA’s biggest fundraiser, Boosterthon, this week, Mrs. Younger, PTA, and I want to share this message with you. We feel it is important to know that we understand that this is a difficult time for many of our Clermont families. The ongoing government shutdown has affected members of our community in very real ways, and our hearts are with those facing uncertainty right now. In full transparency, the furlough is also impacting both Mrs. Younger and my households as well.
Please know that our Boosterthon Fun Run was planned nearly a year ago—long before we could have anticipated this situation. The funds we will raise will support many already-planned activities for students throughout the year. We are moving forward with the event because it brings so much joy and excitement to our students, promotes teamwork and fitness, and includes valuable character-building lessons for every child, regardless of donations.
This year, we’re fortunate to have received more business sponsorships than in the past, and our corporate matching program remains in effect—both of which will help strengthen our results despite the current challenges.
That said, participation is not just about fundraising. Families can support in many ways—by sharing their student’s page, volunteering at the Fun Run on Friday, October 24, between 9:45 – 12:00, cheering on the kids, or simply celebrating the fun of being together. Last year, just through sharing, donations came in from 47 of the 50 states! Every bit of encouragement counts and helps build our incredible school community.
Thank you for continuing to support our school community, in whatever way you are able.
Warmly,
Ms. Salata and Mrs. Younger

Calendar
To help minimize confusion and congestion at the end of the day, please submit dismissal changes to the office before 2:00 p.m. the day of the Early Dismissal.
All early pick-ups must be completed before 3:15 p.m. After 3:15 p.m., parents/guardians will need to wait until regular dismissal at 3:50 p.m. The buses are arriving, and we are completing end of day activities. Last minute changes make it hard to notify the teacher and sometimes locate the students quickly. On 3-hour early dismissal days, early pick-ups must be completed before 12:15 p.m. After 12:15 p.m., parents/guardians will need to wait until dismissal at 12:50 p.m. Thank you for your cooperation!
Just a friendly reminder that if you are coming to the school to volunteer you must bring your photo ID and sign in on the Visitor Management Computer.

Did you know that families can apply for free and reduced-price meal benefits anytime during the school year?
If a family’s income changes at any point, they may become newly eligible according to federal income guidelines and can apply immediately. This includes income interruptions caused by furloughs, layoffs, or job losses. Once approved, benefits remain valid for the rest of the school year and for up to 30 school days into the following school year, even if the family’s income changes again. Read Superintendent Reid's October 1 letter regarding other resources available to families impacted by the government shutdown.
